The energy and chemistry you get when being able to physically interact with one another is so much harder to capture in a sound booth unless you’re a trained/experienced VO.

RANGO (2011) recorded many of its voice performances with the cast acting scenes on a soundstage instead of separately in booths. Animators used the footage as reference, which gave the characters a more natural physicality than most animated films.
