The Ukranian Foreign Ministry has upped the diplomatic ante by taking an aggressive public position on the issue instead of dealing with it more discreetly. Asking the arrested Ukrainians to be released forthwith is being presumptuous. This suggests that they have stakes in covering up the matter, which means they want to prevent a thorough investigation that could prove embarrassing for the Ukranian regime.
OpIndia.com@OpIndia_com

Ukraine's Foreign Ministry disregards India's authority on Indian soil, demands release of its citizens and criticises NIA's action, including the legal process. This is not the first time. Ukraine's Foreign Ministry has been arrogant for years opindia.com/2026/03/ukrain…

"Islamic architecture" > It was a literal shithole ruin before being rebuilt by Soviet commies > White people are mainly responsible for revival of Islam in 19th/20th century. > Even Kazakhs became Muslims only due to Tatar missionaries sent by Catherine > Prior to that, Muslims were declining even in population because of constant famines/wars > Muslims were so poor that even the Shi'ite missionary work being done in Iraq was from Hindu taxpayer money sent by Awadhi Shi'ites.

Reporter: Will you make some concessions for India? Iran delegates: We saw majority of Indians have empathy with us,they condemned the US war & stood against attack on kids We conveyed to Iran that Indians who supported us needed gas, Govt allowed it. No Modi No Jaishankar Just people of India who supported Iran and stood with them are the reason Iran allowed Indians Ship through Hormuz. The Iranian delegate never acknowledged Modi or Jaishankar or any of India's Policy & Diplomatic strategy He only acknowledged India's people and their empathy for allowing the Ship.

🚨MAJOR BREAKING: Trump might have just made the biggest f*ck-up of his career. Trump’s so-called “high quality” 30–50 million barrels of Venezuelan oil seems to be tar-like heavy crude, requiring special refineries and MASSIVE costs to pipe it. Sen. Merkley breaks it down:

Every ridiculous Military video out of the “developing” world is just a reminder of how like a platoon of Scots-Irish grenadiers and an Anglo-Norman commander could and did take over everywhere on earth as soon as they had the sail and steam technology to get there The world lies outside our grasp for reasons of will rather than capability, at present, and all it would take is a return to the will of our ancestors to change that

A pitcher stands on a raised mound only 60 feet and 6 inches from home plate, throwing a ball on average at MLB level of 93-97 mph for fastballs (slower speeds for curveballs and other breaking balls.) Batter has a much skinnier bat, so harder to make contact. No disrespect towards cricket, but the skill of hitting a baseball successfully is beyond all others for pure difficulty.

Before threatening Bangladesh, do some history research, what happens when India tries to cross our borders! Remember Boraibari 2001? Indian BSF thought they could retaliate and enter clear Bangladeshi territory. Result 16 BSF jawans wiped out by Bangladesh Rifles (BDR), many brutally killed, bodies returned days later. Only 3 BDR losses. Our Army taught your ancestors a hard lesson that day. So don't mistake patience for weakness. Geography works both ways. Mistake it again, and the price will be even heavier.

🇮🇳🇨🇳 THE 2020 BORDER CLASH HUMILIATED INDIA... NOW THEY'RE SPENDING BILLIONS TO MAKE SURE IT NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN Chinese and Indian soldiers fought hand-to-hand at 14,000 feet with batons wrapped in barbed wire. Beijing could have rushed reinforcements in hours. India would have needed a week. Never again, New Delhi decided. India is now pouring hundreds of millions into roads, tunnels, and airstrips throughout the Himalayas. The Border Roads Organization budget jumped from $280 million in 2020 to $810 million today. Overall military spending is up 60% to $80 billion. The crown jewel: a $750 million tunnel, 9 miles carved into mountains at 11,500 feet, allowing year-round supply to border outposts previously cut off by snow for six months. India also built 30+ helipads and opened a new airbase just 19 miles from China. Retired Maj. Gen. Amrit Pal Singh: "We realized we needed to change our total approach." Source: WSJ

I want to understand this $20bn investment condition. Who does our government expect to do that investing? What sane NZer will put wealth at risk in a nation where little can happen without trustworthy local connections? Where trustworthiness is rarely for anyone but family? Where bureaucracy and legal paralysis are legendary? Where ultra sophisticated capital and ruthless billionaires are already rife? India is a byword for hostility to foreign ownership. It expropriates foreign IP and brand value. What can a dynamic India possibly want from dumb coerced capital from naive kiwis? Is this demand designed to force NZ exporters to bribe Indian ‘partners’ [politicians?] with equity in local ‘distribution’. To create hostage ‘investments’ to be ‘clawed back’ [forfeited] when convenient? And incidentally to create in NZ a lobby group of kiwis desperately needing NZ policy to remain compliant with Indian politician demands - trying to avoid losing their ‘investments’. This feature is not for a genuine FTA. It looks like a Nigerian scam. “Please sign up. “I know lots of people have done their dough with fraudsters but this will be different. “We really mean to [share the inheritance/access the goodies] cut tariffs. “It will be quick - only spread over 10 years. “But first there’s this little formality - we need to know you really want to partner with us - we’ll need your $20 billion credit card signature. “Of course it’s only a security deposit. “We won’t actually process it”. I hope @nzfirst and @nzlabour can force a renegotiation.
Keegan Langeveld 🇳🇿@KeeganLangeveld

The India-New Zealand FTA is a bad deal for New Zealand, @winstonpeters is right. India's Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Piyush Goyal, has revealed that the deal is "backed by a clawback mechanism if investment targets are not met." If Foreign Direct Investment of USD $20billion over the next 15 years India can chuck tariffs back on our products to 'rebalance' the deal.... According to Auckland University of Technology's Senior Lecturer Rahul Sen, NZ's investment between 2000 - 2023 totalled only USD $79million.... Seems inevitable that the clawback will be triggered and New Zealand will suffer the consequences of a rushed FTA signed only for political reasons.

Winston Peters@winstonpeters·
New Zealand First is regrettably opposed to the India Free Trade Agreement announced today.   We consider the India-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement to be neither free nor fair. Regrettably, this is a bad deal for New Zealand. It gives too much away, especially on immigration, and does not get enough in return for New Zealanders, including on dairy.   New Zealand First urged its coalition partner not to rush into concluding a low-quality deal with India, and to use all three years of this Parliamentary cycle in order to get the best possible deal. We also indicated we felt it would be unwise for National to sign up to a deal with India when a Parliamentary majority for that deal was uncertain.   Unfortunately, these pleas went unheeded. National preferred doing a quick, low-quality deal over doing the hard work necessary to get a fair deal that delivers for both New Zealanders and Indians.   When Cabinet approval for the India deal was sought last week, New Zealand First exercised the agree to disagree provision of its coalition arrangements – while making clear that it would vote against enabling legislation if and when it is introduced to Parliament.   While New Zealand is completely opening its market to Indian products under this deal, India is not reducing the significant tariff barriers currently facing our major dairy products. This is not a good deal for New Zealand farmers and is impossible to defend to our rural communities.   The India FTA would be New Zealand’s first trade deal to exclude our major dairy products - including milk, cheese and butter. In the year to November 2025, New Zealand exports of these products were worth around $24 billion, or 30% of our total goods exports.   National has also made serious concessions to India in areas that have nothing to do with two-way trade - but rather relate to encouraging the movement of people from India to New Zealand and New Zealand investment in India.   On a per capita basis, National has offered far greater access for India to our labour market than did Australia or the United Kingdom to secure their FTAs. This is deeply unwise given New Zealand’s current labour market conditions, with too many New Zealanders in unemployment or doing it tough economically.   New Zealand First looks at all proposed changes on migration from the same standpoint: do they protect the ability of New Zealanders to find meaningful employment as well as the integrity of our immigration system? The India deal fails that test. By creating a new employment visa specifically for Indian citizens, it is likely to generate far greater interest in Indian migration to New Zealand – at a time when we have a very tight labour market.   We also hold concerns that the deal ties the hands of future New Zealand Governments. The proposals around the work rights for Indian students, both when they study and after they graduate, would constrain the ability of future governments to make policy changes in response to changing labour market conditions.   New Zealand First’s position on the India deal takes nothing away from its efforts to advance the India-New Zealand relationship.   We are deeply committed to the advancement of the India-New Zealand relationship, which is in our country’s strategic interests.   The first visit we took this term as Foreign Minister outside Australia and the Pacific was to India, and we returned there this year. And at our direction, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade has significantly increased the resources directed to advancing India-NZ relations, both at our Posts in India and at Head Office in Wellington.   We have known S Jaishankar, India’s External Affairs Minister, for a long time, and have the utmost respect for him as an international statesman and champion of New Zealand-India relations. We have communicated to Minister Jaishankar New Zealand First’s position on this matter.
