My step moms mother died after successful hip surgery, suffered a brain hemorrhage after she slipped & fell in the bathroom because the two nurses she was assigned were inept. Got a call that said "success, you can visit tomorrow" then 12 hours later "hey so.. hurry down cause she's gonna die for sure." No compensation at all. My own mother still has complications from surgery 18 months ago that numerous doctors & specialists just shrug & say deal with the pain. That was after they shucked her into the hallway saying she would probably be discharged & told her if she needs to use the bathroom, use this room. Turns out that room was a quarantine room that no one had any signage up on so when she tried to use it some other nurse gave her shit & told her to get back on her gurney. Oh, and she was only set to be discharged despite having her blood o2 drop very low over night because the night staff didn't document that event & the doc had no idea because he didn't listen when she asked if he was sure she was going to be discharged because of what happened overnight. MAiD is offered to Paralympians that just want a stair climber, or veterans that just want some standard of care. The program killed a young man because he had seasonal depression. Kills people who are poor & just give up too. It's a leading cause of death now in Canada. There's a reason American celebrities like Glenn Beck & Dana White step up to help Canadians that make national news for whatever reason. I'm happy I'm wealthy enough now that should anything terrible happen, I can fly my family down to mexico or colombia for some quality of care.
