Here's a piano stool classic! Published in 1978, Merrily to Bethlehem became a primary school classic. It featured carols from around the world, including the much-loved "Starry Night" and "Calypso Carol (See Him Lying on a Bed of Straw)". One of Margaret's festive favourites!

Time and Tune was a BBC Schools radio series which ran for a remarkable 67 years, from 1951 until 2018. Each new series would introduce children to a set of songs, usually with a theme or musical story. Pupil pamphlets were produced for every series. Here's one from 1959:

First published in 1975, Apusskidu was a collection of cheerful songs for children, including music hall tunes and pop songs. The book soon became a staple of the infant classroom and, decades later, treasured copies could still be found in primary school piano stools. 🎶🎹🎶
