@JackCrabb1776 @NicHulscher I never read about ticks that I don’t think about how it affected you. Every time.
English

@NicHulscher Are you really an Epidemiologist? If you are, you know better than to infer Gates has anything to do with Alpha Gal. I actually have AGS and if I could somehow pin it on Gates, believe me that I would.
English

JOE ROGAN: “The tick thing is nuts...”
TIM BURCHETT: “Because of Bill Gates.”
ROGAN: “Farmers and ranchers are finding boxes of ticks on their property. I have a good friend who got bit by the Lone Star tick and has that alpha-gal problem... It makes your body allergic to red meat.”
BURCHETT: “And who has got genetically made meat now?”
ROGAN: "Bill Gates?"
BURCHETT: "Bill Gates."

Bill Gates has already spent more than $7.6 MILLION creating genetically modified ticks designed to SPREAD in the wild. In 2023, the Gates Foundation awarded Flyttr the cash to “initiate development of a self-limiting tick” designed to spread and control cattle ticks.

Easy. He’s rewarded by his white overlords for it. There have always been Justins in our community. We call them “shuck n jive” negroes. The liberal white man loves this. He claps and giggles and says “Aren’t they so fun?! They’re so passionate! So expressive. Just like in the movies!” And then that white man gives Justin some money and a pat on the back and invitations to the cocktail parties where he is one of just a few black people. There, they will be endlessly entertained by his speech (they talk so funny and loudly!), his Afro (I just love his hair. Can I touch it?), his rage (there’s something scary but fun about a black man pretending to be angry), his clothes (so many bright sashes!), his complaints (I’m such a good person for inviting this poor black man here and listening to his pain), his shuck and his jive (black people are so expressive!). They can tell each other stories about their new black friend at the classier parties he doesn’t get invited to. They can use him as an anecdote in their classroom lectures and dinner parties in the Hamptons with Jimmy Kimmel. They can feel good about their diverse group of friends. They can close their mansion gates at night feeling they’ve done their part to help the poors. Justin is on it and he’s yelling loudly and don’t we just love it when he starts dancing and shouting like he’s in one of those very animated black churches?
That’s what Justin gets out of this. That’s what changed. He found approval. It’s all he’s ever wanted.

Can someone tell me what causes such a drastic personality shift like this?

There are two lessons that every man needs to live by.
1. Whatever an elderly woman (or man) asks you to help them with, you do it. They don't want to ask you, it took a lot.
2. A child hands you a toy cell phone, or a cup of imaginary tea. You answer that phone or you drink that tea.
Society will forever be better for it

@wings_pirate @JamesHu27192912 @burgcats They’re like hummingbirds, they just make your life better!!

@JamesHu27192912 @burgcats Nothing better than seeing lightning bugs. Even as an adult, I love them.
English

Lightning bugs are one of those little things that instantly feel like summer in North Carolina. The moment they start glowing across mountain hollers, quiet backroads, and open fields, you know the season has fully arrived.
For so many North Carolinians, they’re tied to childhood memories — running barefoot through the grass at dusk, catching fireflies in jars for a few minutes before letting them go, and staying outside while the cicadas and tree frogs filled the evening air.
There’s something especially peaceful about seeing them flicker beneath the Blue Ridge skies, around old farmhouses, and through the rolling countryside as the sun disappears behind the mountains.
It’s the kind of simple beauty that generations of people across North Carolina have grown up with — warm evenings, porch lights glowing in the distance, and fields quietly lighting up one tiny spark at a time.
