@TafferKing451 What’s been the influence of Half-Life on Gloomwood? I guess I can see it in the unbroken first-person narrative but that’s not a comparison I would’ve thought to make.

For Gloomwood, part of it is the expectation from Thief. However, there are elements in Gloomwood that lean more on the Half-Life/System Shock side of things, and I thought it was fine that, like Gordon or the Hacker, the Doctor doesn’t quip on stuff.

We got critiqued for not having a more vocal protagonist. Gianni and I actually did try it, but it didn’t feel quite right for the vibe we were going for.
I think Garrett from Thief and Mike from Fallen Aces show it can work, though! It just has to be tasteful.

Please don't put a talking voice acted protagonist in your ambient exploration game. Please don't. It's more effort and it just makes the game worse. If you ever think "Wait, it would be more immersive if the protagonist was commenting on things!" just stop and go home. Bad idea.

@OllyValentine2 My guess is to avoid another Mick Gordon situation if another individual composer rises to that status, I think Andrew Hulshult especially is on his way there. A studio both prevents one person from gaining fame and, hopefully, prevents its composers from being exploited.
