@Gutter_Roamer @RevSarahLocke @iquitchurch Same with me. Grew up intensely Christian. I wanted to believe but I just couldn’t and still can’t. I’ve since studied many, many other religions and spiritual teachings to understand more. Glad to know there are others.

@RevSarahLocke @iquitchurch What specifically about Exodus? I was raised the exact same way, but I never developed a connection with faith, even as I child. Although religion is a fairly big interest for me, I’ve never been the given the gift of faith or an ability to believe, and it’s something I wanted.

My mom told me her starting salary at a community college in 1985. It’s 150k in today’s money. There is no making your lunch at home that can make up for this. I make less than half that

I know an American guy who moved to Amsterdam from LA to work for a business outpost here. He leads a very comfortable but non-exceptional life by local standards with his family. He says he wouldn’t move back to LA even if offered 7 figures now because he wouldn’t be able to afford the same comfort and quality of life. When comparing American and Western European salaries, some things don’t add up purely mathematically the way you think they would.

@akchato And the smell lingers!! I was using the bags to cover some items while working on the ceiling, realized the smell is too strong, removed the bags. A day later, I could still smell the scent. Crazy. What’s in it?? It can’t be good for anybody’s lungs!

Scented garbage bags are EVIL!!!! Wish it was never invented.
