I think it is very, very dangerous for us to push narratives from the church that practically tell women that men are mostly or inherently the problem. It will benefit no one, and in the long run, it will hurt our Christian women. Ask Christian men, and you will find that they have also suffered from Christian women. At the very least, I know two men around me who have been manipulated and defrauded by a tongue-speaking, church-working Christian sister. This is a both-sides issue. Painting men as inherently untrustworthy and ungodly when it comes to relationships is dangerous. I can assure you it harms every party involved. Let us not point fingers. It is on CT here that a Christian sister derisively said she delights in leading men on, even though she knows she would not be involved with them. It was a backlash before she deleted the tweet. Furthermore, it is also a fact that there are many marriage-worthy Christian men and women out there. I have many such marriages around me. I would encourage us not to buy into this global narrative that has demonized men in relation to women. I can tell you on good authority that it is already backfiring, and women are the first to feel it. Men are now generally tending to distrust women. They are beginning to see marriage as optional. They are also beginning to see being a responsible father as non-essential. We already live in a world that demonizes men in relation to women, and we are seeing staggering implications in our civilization. The dating scene is dwindling. Men are approaching marriage with caution and fear. This is the reality in the world. Let us not import that into the church. There are many sound and faithful Christian men. Saying otherwise is, in effect, telling God that He has no faithful sons anymore. This kind of imbalance was already stirring in the church at Ephesus. Paul had to write to them and instruct that such teaching should not continue, reminding them that it was Eve who was deceived, not Adam. He did this to show that both men and women in the church have their flaws. So he instructed men to pray always without wrath, recognizing that they are predisposed to it. Likewise, he told women not to boast in outward beauty, recognizing that they may also be disposed to that. Moral shortcomings apply to both genders. Making the framing one-sided is never biblical, and it will only lead to more harm. Let us be balanced. Let us be biblical. The standard of God remains sure: those who call on His name must depart from iniquity. We still have faithful Christian men and women holding to this standard.
