Time for people to realise how great Manmohan Singh was. To keep petrol at Rs. 60 when Crude was $160 per barrel and not make such a drama after looting us for 12 years when crude was 90 $ per barrel.
Hardeep Singh Puri@HardeepSPuri

International crude prices have gone through the roof in the last 1 month from around 70 dollars/barrel to around 122 dollars/barrel. Consequently, petrol and diesel prices for consumers have gone up all over the world. Prices have increased by around 30%-50% in South East Asian countries, 30% in North American countries, 20% in Europe and 50% in African countries. The Modi Government had two choices- either increase prices drastically for citizens of Bharat as all other nations have done or bear the brunt on its finances so that Indian citizen is insulated from international volatility. Hon’ble Prime Minister @narendramodi Ji, in keeping with his Government’s commitment of last 4 years since the conflict in Russia-Ukraine started, decided to take a hit on its own finances again to safeguard the Indian citizen. Government has taken a huge hit on it taxation revenues to ensure very high losses of oil companies (approximately 24 Rs/litre for petrol and 30 Rs/litre for diesel) at this time of sky high international prices are reduced. At the same time, export tax has been levied as international prices of petrol and diesel have skyrocketed and any refinery exporting to foreign nations will have to pay export tax. My gratitude to Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi Ji and Hon’ble FM @nsitharaman Ji for this very timely, bold and visionary decision!

@RRavich70890862 @Subytweets @DharamvirGurdas You can bury your as well. You F*ing dont know how much was the bond and how much is petroleum revenue. The revenue of 1 quarter could pay off the bond with its interest! And the bonds are not paid every year. These are paid in some interval period. Now go & educate urself. Jahil

Shame on those criticizing Narendra Modi over the falling rupee and failed foreign policy. Let’s be honest, you didn’t vote for economic wisdom or diplomatic strength. You voted out of hate carefully cultivated and amplified by BJP and RSS. The whole nation is paying heavily for such idiocy.

A swift and decisive intervention by PM @narendramodi ji to shield 1.4 billion Indians from global price and supply shocks amid the #WestAsia crisis impacting energy & commodity markets. ✅ Central excise duty on petrol & diesel for domestic consumption cut by ₹10/litre each, cushioning consumers from rising prices. ✅ Export duties imposed: ₹21.5/litre on diesel & ₹29.5/litre on Aviation Turbine Fuel, ensuring adequate domestic availability. A #CitizenFirst 🇮🇳 approach to safeguard affordability and #EaseOfLiving.

@Vtxt21 It’s not for consumers but for private oil companies. That’s a huge deal if you understand supply & demand. This would’ve otherwise been a ₹10 hike for consumers that’s now been averted.

@amit987840 @Vtxt21 Abe, jab global price kam hua tha tab india govt excise increase kar diya tha.... Why not pass the benefit to consumer. Had they done that, now they would be able to increase during global crisis.

The biggest problem for India is the leechers. They don't want global war to affect their living style. They don't want costs to go up despite worldwide shortage. They accuse the govt of not giving them freebies. Govt cuts excise duty so that the service providers don't increase prices for consumers. Now these leechers want cost to go further down so that they can keep growing on fresh air and foolishness.

@TurboEnjoyer23 @rd4all @SomChaterji Do you know how much is the torque and how it drives ? And its price is VFM. That 200cc extra helps the engine to be at ease compared to the 1L engine. Its 205NM, about 30+NM more torque than the other popular pricier cars. Also faster.

Sad state of affairs at Citroen India. Toyota Vellfire outsells Aircross and Basalt. What should the company do? In my opinion very few are aware of the brand at all.

@SomChaterji The strategy of Citroen from the outset has been flawed inspite of having a good product line-up. They should have taken Hyndai head-on with plush interior quality and sensible features. It would have worked but now the game is over. It's only a matter of time before they exit.

@Siddharthj710 @SomChaterji I would not spend 25L on car in india at this point. Half of them will be tax only. Faltu road discipline and dirty environment will make it harder to maintain a car cost 25L 10-12 L only, to survive the shhthole.

@SomChaterji Indians not worth for some worthy things.... They are some backward ppl. They want all jhunjhuna.... only. Citreon should never have come to India. What could they expect from a country that bought a zero star car(read CHWIFT VDi) for decades by queuing up outside showrooms.
