oh and let me be more specific. technically it didn't cross, but the reason it got N9 (and not Minimum Grade, which would have led to you being charged), was that the current holder has scratches and scuffs to the point where the grader couldn't tell what was on the card vs. the current holder, so they couldn't appropriately and confidently grade the card through the current holder/case. that explains more why the CS rep said lack of research, as N9 is the typical "no grade code" for lack of research / spec info. But sometimes the grading team uses N9 to make sure the card isn't charged for as a catch-all to help out the submitter if the service can't be performed (such as the holder being too scratched up in a crossover sub). hope this helps / makes sense

Hey @PSAcard @natsturner when a card goes to get upgraded what takes so long to tell someone their card isn’t gonna be upgraded? I could understand it taking you time if you were going to upgrade it, hence maybe going past the completion date… but my lord keeping a card to do all these steps to just tell them thank you for your money is mind blowing to me, and be late on top of it. #thehobby
