This week’s #FridayFeeling #guitar post goes out to British rock band Cream and their iconic hit, “Sunshine of Your Love”. Written by Jack Bruce, Pete Brown & Eric Clapton, it was originally released on the album Disraeli Gears in November 1967, and as a single in January 1968. It’s been the inspiration for millions of aspiring guitarists worldwide. Bruce and Clapton attended The Jimi Hendrix Experience show at the Saville Theatre in London. After the concert, Bruce returned home and wrote the riff. Clapton later wrote the song's bridge & title. Clapton's guitar tone on the song is created using his 1964 Gibson SG guitar through a wah-wah pedal and a Marshall amplifier. Cream's American record label, Atlantic, didn’t like the song but changed their mind when Booker T. Jones (of Booker T. & the M.G.'s, whose Stax label was at the time distributed by Atlantic) said he loved it. Have a great #weekend everybody! #rocknroll #classicrock
