So I think the new X algorithm f*cked my account, and maybe yours too. Elon and Nikita said they were going to stop this, but I think they didn't: the new algorithm is clearly showing your content based on your IP geolocation. The proof: Left: 3 months of stats Right: 7 weeks of stats I went from 30% US traffic in the last 3 months (in fact, I had 50% months ago) to 40% Spanish traffic, even though I was writing exactly the same type of content this week, in English. It seems they just want non US people to be unable to reach that audience. It's as plain as that. So, so sad. Three years of working hard to build a US audience by providing value to you all, and now a f*cking algorithm is going to destroy all that. Come on, X. What the hell does it matter where you post from if the content is good?

I’ve made a lot of pixel art games. I have tried your AI. And sorry to say that but I still find NB + downscaling + color reducing is much more flexible and useful. NB is a great artist and great at following the prompt. Minor issues could be fixed/post-processed. At least from my point of view.

@SlavaCherk Except all these flaws are still clearly identifiable post-downscale. Color noise, broken outlines, and misaligned dithering. Post processing is a band-aid, it can fix some things, but its always going to surface flaws with the images. This is why dedicated tooling is important

@RealAstropulse But you just post-process it to 256x256 using nearest neighbor and that's it. NBPro does the most important things for pixel art: 1. can do pixel-perfect outlines, lines 2. perfectly aligns pixels, without any size fluctuations, etc.

@SlavaCherk Are you not seeing the noise and gunk all around the crow? Or in the grass? Idk man I think our standards are just different. This has all of the artifacts and issues I was talking about in the article.

@SlavaCherk Zoom in bro. Those pixel aren't pixels, and downscaling won't align properly. Like I mention in the article.

@javilopen BTW, what's the most disturbing in this situation -- Twitter always marketed itself as a platform of a free speech. But in this case they basically said "We don't want a POLITICAL speech from abroad to be visible inside the US".

@minchoi Everything's fine here. "Right" always feels "better". And in this case lower cost is better.

@gleb_alexandrov Because it works only if you close one eye and start moving around your monitor. Nobody moves/pans around the monitor while playing a game.

Btw, do we ever appreciate anything at all? It looks like everything ends up being boring. World knowledge in your pocket? Flying to space? Light/warmth in every home? Personal driving devices? All of these, I’m sure, sounded super exciting before the mass adoption. And all of these are quite boring now.

@unentropic @techhalla You should limit the number of frames to only 1 cycle and use the ending frame with a weight around 100%. This way you'll get a much better result.

Tried @techhalla 's video generation technique to make spritesheets with animations on comfyui/wan 2.2 (14B) locally. I didn't pull the frames and make the spritesheets yet but the base video is a pretty nice walk cycle! Thanks @techhalla for the tip!

Indie game devs are about to love me (or hate me) for this... I built an AI workflow (app included) that spits out spritesheets in minutes, from assets created on freepik. Breaking it all down below 👇
