So the fuel protests started out as "we can't afford to live in Ireland, the government is shafting us!!" to "its the foreigners fault!", specifically Ukrainians fault in less than 24hrs.

For those in the defence forces reading this. If you are being deployed today in anyway relating to policing the #FuelProtest, make sure you have clear unit identification on your vehicles and person. If for any reason beyond your control you don't, make sure to tell the civilians you encounter what unit you are serving in. Do not disobey any lawful order and don't try to be a lawyer. Just make sure it is known what unit you are serving in (same applies to vehicles). The Garda do the pushing and shoving, not you, don't lay a finger on person or property yourself.

Imagine if Trump deployed the U.S. Army against peaceful protestors in America. Just picture the media meltdown. Now the Irish army, that I served in (reserve) for the best part of twenty years is being deployed AGAINST our own people? The government should resign, what an absolute disgrace. How many of the arseholes in government served in the Army, Navy or Air Corps? How dare they deploy our troops for such purpose. #FuelProtest
