This woman has been forced to sleep on her couch recently. She has a very important message to share. She bought a very expensive Sleep Number bed. When she moved she recently discovered something when she was setting up her bed in her new place. She discovered mold! The Sleep Number bed uses air mattresses underneath. Well, to get air in those chambers there are tubes that pump air into them. If the tube has a small leak, air is leaking out. Air is not moisture itself, but it can help create moisture and moisture helps create mold. She looked at her hoses and you can see mold inside the tubes. When she called them tahe says they told her she was lying and it wasn’t possible. Then they told her for $500 they would send her a new piece of foam. So, if you have one of those very expensive beds and have been feeling sick lately, you might want to check your bed. You just might be sleeping in mold. Others said they checked and yep, they found mold as well. We looked at one just last July. I’m glad we didn’t buy one. When we went to another Mattress store, the owner explained to us how overpriced those beds actually were. Do you own one of these beds? Been feeling ill lately? Don’t you think they should issue a full and complete refund for the bed?

@sleepnumber this should be addressed immediately! Once customers start looking I this won't be the only customer that will find they have been sleeping on a black mold filled mattress causing untold numbers of your customers from children to elderly to suffer medical issues!!!!

@sleepnumber This is absolutely morally and ethically wrong. Your company has been made aware that your beds can leak air, causing condensation that is trapped between layers causing black mold to build up without the owners knowing until they dismantle the bed for some reason.

I have 2 of these beds @sleepnumber purchased in 2015. I specifically asked about the 05 mold issue and was assured it’s been fixed and not a problem anymore. That's a good question, and I appreciate you allowing me the opportunity to explain. What your seeing is powder that is used inside the air chambers. It prevents the insides from sticking together so when we inflate our beds, the air is able to flow evenly throughout it. Because it is a powder, it would wipe off pretty easily if you were to swab it with a q-tip.

@FLBoundFreeMan Resin is used on the inside of the air chambers to prevent them from sticking during manufacturing. When the pump is used, it can unintentionally suck the resin out of the air chambers and into the hose. This is not uncommon or dangerous. support.sleepnumber.com/hc/en-us/artic…

Spine issues made me sleep on air mattresses for years. Saved up to get a @sleepnumber bed. An “investment” in sleep that really didn’t pay off. With this new video, however, I’m starting to feel like I bought a lemon. I’ll be checking for mold regularly.

It’s no more than an air mattress tucked into a cover. He talked me into keeping it &giving it a try. Worst purchase ever. @sleepnumber

@sleepnumber Henrietta 2ndsleep number bed delivered. works for driver but not us. SN said I should of FORCED the driver to stay. Coming 2 days I have to block technician to leave if it doesn't. Unsafe & illegal 4 anyone. please repost 4 safety no one should g2 jail for a bed
