This is so stupid I have my entire subathon highlighted and archived on twitch for my community to look back on as well as almost 10 YEARS of highlights. Now because of this I cant make any more highlights or vods for my playthroughs FUCK YOU TWITCH

This is not good for speedrun history where records, discoveries, and personal bests exist solely as a Twitch highlight. If you're a speedrunner or know someone who was, please archive your history to Youtube.

I fucking hate this. I have HUNDREDS+ of 8+ hour VOD highlights because this has never been an issue with the 7+ years I've been streaming on the platform.. now to suddenly throw this at us with ONLY 60 days to sort it out??? These are memories I thought were stored securely, and now I have to figure out how the fuck I'm gonna deal with this.. At least give us till the end of the year @Twitch @TwitchSupport

Can’t help but feel the speedrun community targeted on this. What a fucking horrible decision. They are just gonna straight up wipe out so much world record history. If storing highlights is such an issue they should get fucking AV1 support already

Twitch wants to delete every GDQ, twitch plays pokemon, every tournament or significant event series,most speedruns, most longplayers, most RPG recorded runs, and all of the history of what happened on twitch, from twitch. If that sounds stupid it's because it is. let em hear it

Fuck you @Twitch @TwitchSupport I have 17 YEARS worth of Highlights/VODs dating back to 2008 on my JustinTV streams and now I have to cherry pick through all of it to save only 100 hours of content? That will continue to be deleted as I continue to stream and save newer VODs? I’ve also discovered tons of channels by searching old highlights especially on more obscure games that aren’t streamed often. That’s fine, continue to invest into your brain rot Clips feature thinking you can actually compete with YouTube shorts or TikTok. This is your WORST UPDATE EVER!

We need to speak out against this as a community. I understand storage can be expensive, but this is not the solution. This will drive the MAJORITY of the streamers off twitch, as they dont support longevity on the platform. TONS of people stream daily. Some for several hours or even full time. For some persepctive: Lots of Vtubers and non Vtubers do collabs and have fun for a significant amount of that time. VRchaters and other RPers that have several HUNDREDS of hours of RP with in depth storys and lore. Speedrunners that have runs of games HOURS long, and a story of progression of them slowly getting better thru runs to make that WR happen. The VODS of wich are used as evidence in official records and such. Some many years old and channels abandoned. IRL streamers that have so many memories over so many years. 100 hours is not alot of time and for a large portion of the groups i mentioned they likely have multiple hundreds if not THOUSANDS of hours and memories from being dedicated to making content on twitch. To just drop this on content creators with so little time to pivot while already having full schedules is ridiculous. Imagine youtube or tiktok doing similar. This is shooting yourself in the foot twitch, and will only serve to repel your dedicated streamers to your competition. Pls do better.

We’re implementing a 100 hr storage limit for Highlights & Uploads starting 4/19. This won’t apply to Past Broadcasts (VODs) or clips. Less than 0.5% of streamers exceed 100hrs & this content accounts for <0.1% of hours watched. Users will be notified. link.twitch.tv/storage

@TwitchSupport You owe me and hundreds of thousands of streamers the right to keep our history. If not, you'll be making everyone to just leave and tell you to each shit. Twitch is on a big downfall.
