@GregChalmersPGA Highly recommend this weapon for those tight bunkers, it’s been a godsend for me as my club has similar bunkers. Been playing it like a pitch shot from a tight lie, standing a bit more upright, do you have any technique adjustments for sandless bunkers? 😂

Some takeaways after first and only practice round at Mission Hills yesterday -course is in flawless shape, looks like it was built by A.I -sticky/healthy oversees rye grass rough would be great to stay out of -per above doing some more practice out of rough today around practice green, gotta keep speed up to get thru it. -greens were actually really firm (some wedges bounced 7-10 paces). This may change since likely getting wet on sat/sun -most bunkers have very little sand so I ditched my 12 deg bounce and using my 8 deg @VokeyWedges Could get even nastier after rain🤞😳 -hope all the other players play ok but I play better😎😁🤞🏆📈 @ChampionsTour @GalleriClassic

As you look back on these two days, look at everything involved, what do you take away? Gary Woodland- "That no matter how hard things are, no matter how bad it gets, if you believe, if you surround yourself with the right people, you can overcome. It's a message that I'll remind my kids when I get home. It's been a hard time for me, and I was able to overcome it. I'll be back."

Spieth - “wind and grain to the right, hill to the left…I lined it up right center for a dead straight putt…” Kis - “it’s 3 ft putt jordan, walk up and knock it in.” 😂 LOVING @K_Kisner in the booth! #PGATour @NBCSports @PGATOUR

@LouStagner True story: Middle of a round, the caddy gives me a number to hit to. Me: "Are you sure - that seems too far. I dont want to go over the green." Caddy: "Why dont you hit one over first, before we start worrying about you hitting it over the green when we're picking a number."

Would you like to hit more greens? Every golfer on the planet is going to answer yes to that question. Low Hanging Fruit One thing that will help most amateurs hit more greens is how they are approaching front hole locations. The image below is data for players with a 0 to 5 index. The percentages are how often they hit the green from 120-130 yards in the fairway. To a front hole location, they hit the green 56% of the time. To a back hole location that jumps to 72%. That is a huge difference. Why does this happen? The two main contributors are: 1. Target selection 2. Quality of strike Many amateurs are simply getting the yardage to the flag and then trying hit the shot that exact distance. Seeing that we often do not make high quality contact, the ball is more likely to finish short. To a back hole location, a less than well struck shot still has a chance of catching part of the green. To a front hole location those mediocre shots end up short. What can you do? When you are faced with a front hole location, you MUST pick a target past the hole. The optimal amount past the hole will vary by how far you are from the hole and your skill level (and other factors as well). The next few times you play, start trying this to front hole locations. Pick a target that is past the hole. Aggressively commit to that target. Your greens in regulation will go up, and your scores will go down! (data from @ArccosGolf)

@gshawgolf @DennisSalesGolf I think the premise of your question has flaws, modern irons have weaker lofts because they also have lower cg and so, to hit the same launch window, the static lofts are manipulated. So you kind of answered your own question, pros can hit the proper windows without tech bc speed

@DennisSalesGolf Love it. Question, So speed its required to launch modern lofted irons into the air. Yet pros have MORE speed and play much weaker lofts. Do you think this is a factor in hanging back and scoop like release in an effort to get the ball in the air? Chicken and the egg type Q!!

Some have brought up topics from my recent Fleetwood posts. So I thought I would address them here. Two parts to this video. 1st illustrates that his tailbone moves towards the target in backswing. 2nd highlights the left femur action. Slide baby slide! Average tour payers slides 4 to 6.2” towards target at impact and a total of 6.4 to 9.6” at finish. Watch his tailbone in relation to green line. It works exactly like tour average. If you moves through the green line late in backswing, you might find yourself in a difficult position to move enough forward in downswing. Start that linear action earlier in your swing. Watch his right hip moving back and around trail foot. It gaps out very nicely! Personally I like to see some gapping happening. If you want a number, lets say 1-2” of gapping is ok. On left femur… personally I like seeing lead foot flared out for majority of golfers. You can see how much travel his leg has. I don’t really like seeing left femur move past vertical to ground. I do like seeing the knee get outside of ankle and hip by the time P5 happens. So many great things can happen from here.
