The ancient way is exactly what I have. I still have foreskin to protect but enough was cut off so I could roll the skin and clean. That's all circumcision is supposed to be. I do not condone the american style. I honestly did not understand they even cut so low towards the shaft. You are right that is mutilation

I apologize to you bluebird, even this is way too much removed for me. I would only advocate for the very tip to be snipped so you can roll the skin down safely to clean and pee right.
