Some women are irritated by ditziness in other women because they’re afraid of their own innocence. They see their humanness as weakness. There are plenty of intelligent women that come off as ditzy because they’re comfortable with their own limitations and can laugh at the things they don’t pay attention to. But when I see a woman who can’t laugh along or appears disgusted by silly mistakes, I see a woman that feels the need to prove herself to the world. I see a woman that’s afraid showing any weakness is an invitation to be preyed upon. I see a woman who feels victimized by her own assumptions of how other people perceive her, a woman who feels vulnerable and defensive and worries that without the facade, she’ll be devoured.
