There is a group of states actively competing to attract businesses and high earners, and another group adopting policies that drive them away. I don't see how this doesn't end up as a disaster in the long-term for the latter.

I was going to write that the prevalence of runoffs in the Texas primaries was going to be bruising for everyone involved and should be a rationale for instant runoff rather than 3 more months of campaigning and asking voters to return, but I guess kingmaker is also a solution.

Kavanaugh implies in his dissent that a President is free to exceed his authority and continue doing so, provided the action is not easy to undo. I'm no legal scholar but that seems ... wrong.

Neal Katyal, who argued the tariff case on behalf of small businesses and won, on what stands out to him, "Oftentimes in these high profile cases, there are 5 to 4. But this one was 6 to 3. And notably with two of President Trump's three appointees voting against him."

This shouldn't be a partisan issue. Powerful people, on an international scale, who have allegedly committed heinous crimes, are being protected by Pam Bondi and the D.O.J. Where is the law and order? Since when are we a nation that protects pedophiles? The victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his network deserve justice. The American people deserve answers. I encourage you all to contact your representatives. Let them know we demand answers and accountability.

Today a federal court made clear Pete Hegseth violated the Constitution when he tried to punish me for something I said. This is a critical moment to show this administration they can't keep undermining Americans' rights. I also know this might not be over yet, because Trump and Hegseth can't admit when they are wrong.

This is a huge loss for journalists and others who follow politics. @Gallup has been the top source for presidential approval since FDR and particularly valuable because of that historical context with apples-to-apples numbers that allow us to make comparisons and see patterns.

Trump's FBI raid on the Fulton Country election offices in Georgia is likely not about 2020, but about preparing to disrupt and if necessary steal the elections in 2026 and 2028. In key districts, "state and local election officials need to be ready to go to federal court to seek injunctions barring the government from seizing voting machines or otherwise interfering with the process of tabulating ballots.
