Also, when the trend began, the world was a different place. It was more anti-establishment, outspoken, rebellious, on the streets and fighting the machinery. Now, we obey. We are the machinery. I’ve always felt that ideology and fashion are linked. Communists grew beards as a symbol of struggle and rebellion. Today, we conform: to algorithms, to governments. We shave. We fit in. There really has never been this much of an intergenerational gap before, and it hurts the “public image” of zoomers immensely- zoomers are seen as broccoli haired anti-tech types into steven universe and prone to chungus style beliefs, when in actuality this is merely a subgroup

There is an enormous difference between older Zoomers (96-05) and younger Zoomers (06-10) that basically completely seperates the two entirely- old Zoomers grew up on a precensored Internet, Newgrounds, flash etc, while young zoomers grew up on a fully censored web.
