I don't often post pics of me with fighters on this app (although I do a bit on IG), but Sugar Ray was my boyhood idol, the fighter whose career path led me to a lifelong fascination with boxing. And turning 70 is a big deal. They say don't meet your heroes, but SRL is different

Al Longmire, owner of Al’s Barbershop from 1959 to 2018, has passed away, according to reports from his friends and associates. Numerous Arizona athletes went to Al’s place. I remember going in the late 1990s and Mike Bibby showed up with some of his friends. Al was a gentle soul who treated his customers like family. He had that smile that would put you at ease. RIP, Al, a Tucson icon.

My thoughts are with the people of Los Angeles.
