I've wanted to be published since I was 12 years old. To see my book in stores on day. But after so many years of trying and failing to get my career started, my hope has dwindled. Sometimes I wonder if I should give up on my dream, as much as I don't want to. Writing is hard.

I hope execs are paying attention to so many young, talented publishing people leaving the industry in droves. Something is wrong and y'all should be looking at how to fix it. Because this...ain't working.

Last night was one of the worst nights of my life. I had to make decisions I never thought I'd make. My mom's condition has worsened to the point that we needed professionals to intervene. She is currently at the hospital under protective custody. I am a mess right now.
