So ask yourself: When an AI model "learns" from billions of conversations, documents, and searches — whose worldview does it absorb? Whose language patterns? Whose cultural assumptions? Whose definition of "correct"? Data is never neutral. And the people curating it know that.

California now requires AI companies to publish summaries of their training data. The EU AI Act mandates transparency. Brazil, South Korea, and others are following. But regulation moves at the speed of legislation. AI moves at the speed of GPUs.

Now think about what this means for Africa. 600 million+ Africans using these platforms generate enormous amounts of data daily. That data leaves the continent, trains models in California and Beijing, and returns as AI products we have little say in designing.

They didn't announce this shift loudly. They updated their Terms of Service. Meta. Google. Microsoft. All quietly revised privacy policies to allow user data to be used for AI training. Most people clicked "I agree" without reading a single line. #AI

Here's the part that should concern you: Big tech's AI products generate more users → more users generate more data → that data trains better AI → better AI attracts more users. It's a self-reinforcing moat. And it's widening every day. @sama @elonmusk
