@CliveWardauthor When they shipped him back from Passchendaele there was ringing in his head not caused by any bullets but the faces of the dead. (Credit the men they couldn’t hang)

Pictured below is one of the most heart stopping museum exhibits I've ever seen. This particular scene was part of an exhibit about the Battle of Passchendaele

In my spare time this week I skied across to Vienna and did a 2-day course in advanced bedside mannerisms. Nurse Pickle and I are taking good care of our patient @JaneFallon, although I don't think she realizes I can't actually see properly without my glasses.

@AllisonPearson Alison look at who universities fail and why. I have an interest in this as they failed my DIL after a 3 year course after she had secured a job at a hospital where she had completed placements for failing her last reflective essay. crazy.

British maternity care is patchy and, in too many cases, lethal. What does it say about the NHS that giving birth is Russian roulette? Advice. If you are pregnant do NOT go to a midwife-led unit. Choose a hospital with surgeons close by.

@jfwduffield My DIL completed her training working throughout Covid doing all clinical placements. Secured a job but the university failed her on her last essay which was a self reflection essay. We tried to fight the decision but were gaslighted. She now works in a different field madness

It is how clear that maternity care in Britain is a national emergency & that 'midwife led' maternity services need to end. The midwifery profession is under qualified, highly ideological, incompetent & corrupt.
Hannah Barnes@hannahsbee

Only just seen this via ⁦@BirthTrauma. New analysis shows⁩ maternal death (during or soon after pregnancy) rates in UK 20% higher in 2022-24 than 2009-11, when the UK government set an ambition to halve the rate of maternal deaths in England by 2025 ndph.ox.ac.uk/news/maternal-…

@NETTram Why can’t you buy a ticket for bus and tram from your mobile app but you can from a ticket machine. I didn’t know these tickets were available so my Journey today is over 5 pounds more expensive

I don’t suppose anyone has seen the big lump of vegan cheese my mummy definitely promised me I could have for lunch? She’s going to be terribly cross if she finds out I’ve lost it, so perhaps someone could send me over some more asap. It was a big piece. Veeeery big.

@RailDeliveryGrp @EastMidRailway Genuine question I’ve just tried to book a day return from Nottingham to St Pancras tried several Saturdays in Feb and March and there are several changes also the price is double what I paid last year. Is this due to engineering works

If you really hated your children, you could introduce them to the Medieval torture devices that were the Victoria Centre grasshopper and snake, specially designed to induce dislocated knees, chipped teeth and a life-long debilitating claustrophobia. I still wake up screaming.

@KimberleyKates Myself and my brother went to the showing of the film in Leicester last night. My Dad Alfred Allen was a survivor of the sinking. So much gratitude to Fang Li for bringing the story to life.

@SmithSandra63 @H_onfilm My uncle Sid died on the Lisbon Maru. I haven’t seen the film, didn’t even know about it until an hour ago when @H_onfilm drew my attention to it. It would be fascinating to see it. And sad.

26 years ago, I was made redundant and given a few grand. I decided that if I was careful, I could live off the money for 6 months trying to become a comedian before I had to get another job. I was 37. Worth a punt.

@MoneySavingExp One chap called Andy at Eon who helped me sort a problem with a bill. He was empathetic and professional. If all customer service was like this stress levels in this country would fall.
