In my spare time this week I skied across to Vienna and did a 2-day course in advanced bedside mannerisms. Nurse Pickle and I are taking good care of our patient @JaneFallon, although I don't think she realizes I can't actually see properly without my glasses.

British maternity care is patchy and, in too many cases, lethal. What does it say about the NHS that giving birth is Russian roulette? Advice. If you are pregnant do NOT go to a midwife-led unit. Choose a hospital with surgeons close by.

@jfwduffield My DIL completed her training working throughout Covid doing all clinical placements. Secured a job but the university failed her on her last essay which was a self reflection essay. We tried to fight the decision but were gaslighted. She now works in a different field madness

It is how clear that maternity care in Britain is a national emergency & that 'midwife led' maternity services need to end. The midwifery profession is under qualified, highly ideological, incompetent & corrupt.

If you really hated your children, you could introduce them to the Medieval torture devices that were the Victoria Centre grasshopper and snake, specially designed to induce dislocated knees, chipped teeth and a life-long debilitating claustrophobia. I still wake up screaming.

@KimberleyKates Myself and my brother went to the showing of the film in Leicester last night. My Dad Alfred Allen was a survivor of the sinking. So much gratitude to Fang Li for bringing the story to life.

26 years ago, I was made redundant and given a few grand. I decided that if I was careful, I could live off the money for 6 months trying to become a comedian before I had to get another job. I was 37. Worth a punt.
