@KySportsRadio We still need 2 power forwards. I guess maybe rancik didn’t want to be a backup. Both would have been good. Freeman is the better player but I think Rancik would fit really well with Moreno based on his passing ability. Unfortunate

I think Rancik was there for Kentucky to wrap up yesterday but they chose not to, presumably because of Freeman.
Rancik decides today to end the process, which means Cats either feel they have their top choice or they need to make sure they close it out

Dai Dai Ames and Terrence Hill can both shoot the ball.
Zoom Diallo hasn’t proven he can shoot it and Alex Wilkins very inconsistent from 3 (although it should improve).
I like the Tennessee backcourt fit better - especially with Lundblade.

Here’s the issue: Almost feels like a panic move to get both Alex Wilkins AND Zoom Diallo. I can promise you, Diallo isn’t going there to play off the ball. He’s not very effective without the ball in general. But if Wilkins isn’t handling the ball, it greatly limits what he’s good at. To me, some of the early portal whiffs led to Kentucky just going in on talent and not worrying about fit, which is a pretty shaky formula.

@_VinceCali I think the tournament really matters. If he loses 10+ games but either wins the sec tournament or makes a deep run in march he might keep his job. I’m holding off on judgement till I see the full roster

If Kentucky ends up with Diallo, Wilkins, Freeman or Rancik, Kam Williams and Moreno I do like each of these pick-ups. However, this is an underwhelming portal class to throw out there as the starting 5. If Pope rolls with this, they'll lose 10+ games easily and he'll be gone.
