@publicpolicyman I live in this area and they're absolutely worth having. They restrain lawless drivers from plowing through pedestrians. I've seen plenty of close calls where walkers could've died and the driver seems clueless. If these trigger you, you're likely a shit driver.

I don't think a social worker necessarily needs to be an activist for queer rights but they definitely shouldn't be actively against queer rights. Same thing with any prejudice. That just seems like common sense to me.

I’m alarmed by the amount of social workers who appear to be terfs. How on earth could they deal with a trans client in a humane and empathetic manner? Something has gone wrong by allowing these sort of people into the profession.

@Dragonpanties @Mcbeath_on_sea I don't know about all that, but when I say transphobia, I'm talking about physical and/or verbal abuse pointed at someone for not conforming to the gender norms of the wider community. That's unacceptable to me, and it's an ideological attempt to prevent proper accommodations.

I have seen ideological clinicians who believe any efforts to understand the etiology of gender dysphoria or understand how a child understands and conceptualizes their (trans) identity are "transphobia".

@SmokingGoldfish @Mcbeath_on_sea As a former pediatric social worker, I can tell you that gender ideology is in direct critical conflict with much of the clinical and developmental knowledge I gained through my training, licensure and professional work.
