SASSA should have an educational trust fund whereby they deduct R50 from the children's grant every month till they turn 18 years
.
R50 * 12 months = R600
R600 * 18 years = R12680 & that amount could be invested just like a pension fund. I'm not saying it's enough for tertiary but it can help !!!.🥲

The Minister of Correctional Services, Pieter Groenewald, has reiterated the call for foreign prisoners to be deported so that they can complete their sentences in their countries. Groenewald says there about 25000 foreign prisoners. He further said they are in conversations with specifically neighbouring countries to have a memorandum of understanding to have the prisoners from other countries sent to their places of origin to be kept there.
He says already it costs R463 per day, per prisoner to stay in prison. It costs the taxpayer R11 million per day to keep foreign prisoners.

Two Nigerian Drug Dealers Arrested in Eastern Cape After Police Acting on Tip-Off Discover Mandrax Tablets and Suspected Stolen Cellphones During Search Operation
Crime Prevention officers, acting on a tip-off from a credible source, arrested two suspects in Skyview, Southernwood, KuGompo on 30 April 2026. The operation was carried out after officers moved swiftly on information received regarding alleged drug-related and stolen property activities at a residential address in the area.
Upon arrival at the identified address officers encountered two Nigerian males aged 37 and 41. The suspects reportedly cooperated with law enforcement and voluntarily consented to a search of the premises as officers proceeded with the investigation at the location without incident or resistance reported at the scene.
During the search officers discovered a quantity of mandrax tablets as well as several cellphones believed to be stolen. Both suspects were immediately arrested and charged with dealing in mandrax under the Drugs and Drug Trafficking Act as well as possession of suspected stolen cellphones by law enforcement officials.
The two accused are scheduled to appear in the East London Magistrate’s Court on 4 May 2026. Authorities have not provided further details at this stage and investigations are expected to continue as the case proceeds through the justice system in due course in accordance with legal processes.
