I just celebrated my third Pascha as a baptized Orthodox Christian, and I’ve been on this corner of the app for longer than that. I have never seen such united frequent attacks against the Orthodox Church as I have seen this week. Not saying I am some sort of seasoned expert, cuz I’m not. But it is curious, why now? You guys must really be bleeding converts to our Church.

In my defense field mice are evil and scare my wife. My cat is a savage chad and murders them after making them suffer for hours and then jumps on lap like nothing ever happened. How could I not find this amusing?

@celestiumart What despicable slander. I haven't been "forced" to pay for anything in over two years. Not a single member of my parish OR my priest have ever made a moral argument to entice my tithes or donations. I haven't even been "forced" to pay my diocesan dues yet. Four months baptized.

Lying is a sin. Eastern Orthodox parishes don’t charge for the sacrament itself. If they want a full service with chanters the fee helps keep the lights on and supports the parish.

I have been seeing a lot of discourse around Orthodoxy on my feed. Sadly, part of it is from old mutuals who shifted their focus from bashing Catholics to EO. I know not everyone understands Orthodoxy as it isn't big in America, however, please ask questions/do your research before sharing assumptions publicly and with disgust. Some of the most common ones are that we "worship" saints, worship Mary, the Eucharist does nothing/just symbolic, etc. I would encourage my friends and those curious on Orthodoxy to check out the Patristic Nectar channel by Fr. Josiah Trenham if you're curious on learning about Orthodoxy. Even better, if you have a parish near you, I encourage you to go and ask the priest questions. You will not be pressured to join and he can better answer any questions you may have. Orthodoxy is the way the apostles and early Christians worshipped and the practices are found in Holy Scripture. For my Protestant/non-denom friends Fr. Josiah has a book called "Rock and Sand" that gives a eastern perspective on the Reformation/western Christianity that can help you understand our perspective better.

I’m not a perfect Christian and fall short plenty of times. I know not everyone watches my content, but it hurts to constantly hear or even be vague posted about that I’m not a Christian or I have caused the fall of the Christian VTubing space. My content may have shifted to some extent but Jesus will always be the reason I’m here. My tone may have also shifted to being more firm but it’s because Christ has given me strength to talk through the lies the world has spewed. I very much love people because Christ has transformed my heart in the past 2 years, however, love doesn’t always look cuddly. If I lost this today: my community and all opportunities I wouldn’t let it consume me because what I need is Christ, my future husband, family, and friends.

@ZealousSeraphim Of utopian technocracy. The only legitimate use of AI in the future in my estimate will be 1) efficient and limited collation and tabulation if information and 2) condensation of large search queries into digestible summaries. This bubble cannot pop soon enough.

@ZealousSeraphim My opinion as a nearly two decade IT professional is that AI, in all its forms, is a terrible litany of overpromised and underdelivered statements that are propped up by inordinately large and reckless spending from people who are delusional believers in some form (cont.)

My opinions on AI did shift over time. I’m not 100% against all of its usages anymore. But it’s existence is still troubling because the question is always “do the good usages outweigh the threat of the bad ones”.
