A lot of players value that sense of community more than the game itself. The shared combos, the discoveries, and the excitement of being there at the start. After that? Things become more solitary. Most fighting games don’t “die.” They just lose the social layer that made them feel alive.

@Sneakman3 Its foundation is in martial arts and the complexities of it. Tekken has always taken liberties, but it was only when we got to 8 that they went absolutely overboard across the entire roster.

Yujiro Hanma was the best pick from the anime world for Tekken 8 and people that are saying its bad for Tekken either know nothing about Baki or genuinely want to see Tekken crash and burn. No, Tifa would not have been a better pick. You gotta have shit in your eyes to think that. Let me educate you. - Yujiro Hanma hails from a manga series that has sold over 100 million copies and has multiple successful anime adaptations. It is huge amongst young to middle aged men which is the primary demographic for Tekken. - Yujiro Hanma is known as the "Strongest Creature On Earth". He is a fan favourite amongst martial arts enthusiasts and actually falls in line with traditional Tekken characters. As a matter of fact, Yujiro is more of a fit for Tekken than Miary Zo, Kunimitsu, Victor & Azucena. I know a lot of the new age players like the anime girls jumping on pogo sticks or dudes shooting plasma guns across the screen, but Yujiro represents martial arts. A perfect fit for the King of Iron Fist. - Yujiro Hanma might be contender for worst father of all time. His bad behaviour towards his son was probably the inspiration behind Heihachi and Kazuya. People keep on talking about him being a rapist as if Tekken doesn't literally have genocidal maniacs in it. Its a fictional world. Bad guys do... ding ding ding... you guessed it... bad things. If you're so upset about Yujiro being in the game but not Jin and Kazuya, am I right to assume that you think genocide is okay? Stop with the layer 1 juvenile talking points. This also isn't My Dress Up Girlfriend or some shit. Who cares if he's ugly? He's the strongest. You might be playing the wrong game. Go play a life simulator or something. - There are multiple Tekken characters that have been inspired by the Baki manga. Feng Wei and Fahkumran are blatantly Baki inspired with Feng Wei almost being a 1 to 1 of Retsu. - It makes sense for him to be in Tekken because of the world tournament aspect and always seeking out powerful opponents. His power level probably falls very closely to the Mishima's. He likely won't be able to recreate some of his more ridiculous feats in the gameplay, the same way Heihachi doesn't headbutt meteors in the gameplay and Kazuya doesn't fly around at light speed. I know someone's gonna post a manga panel with Yujiro doing something insane, but please think before you do. This was absolutely the best pick to save this lackluster season pass. I had been calling for Yujiro to be in Tekken back in the Tekken 7 days along with Kiryu and Kenshiro. Kenshiro is headed to Fatal Fury and Kiryu will most likely show up in Virtua Fighter. Feels like someone had been listening to my pleas for all these years. If we're gonna have new and guest characters added to Tekken, less of the Miary Zo nonsense and more of the classic Martial Arts gimmicks, please. This was an absolute win for Tekken ☝🏾

@RealMikeHollow It's the same over the top nonsense. "Grounded" is probably a word that shouldn't be used to describe Baki. It's fine if you view it as more in line with what you want out of Tekken, but there really isn't that big of a line between the two. It's still very ridiculous.
