@DXFromYT It’ll be the same with movies, books and art. I just think that no one should be shamed for not wanting to know “the OG stuff”. That’s okay if someone doesn’t want to watch old films or play old games

@Incep710n @TheRooster Bungie spent $200million on a “niche” market… I wish I could be a fly on the wall when Sony has their board meeting with Bungo and the retard in charge has to explain that it’s a “niche” market thats why they havent broken even.

Marathon has sold 1.2M copies so far. Although it has a dedicated fanbase, it wasn't a hit on the same level as ARC Raiders. Why do you think that is?

Seeing people's reactions to the Chainsaw Man ending makes me wonder how they'd react to Devilman.

@FloHamma @SouIscus @KaiyoBreeze He never stood a chance, man. He was placed in conditions that actively held him back from growing through no fault of his own. Denji doesn't need to earn a chance at life, that was owed to him all along - and we can see the impact he has on others as a result of that chance.

@Snipey13 @SouIscus @KaiyoBreeze He doesn't earn it at all, it just happens to him. He earned the ending of Part 1 by overcoming Makima's manipulation. In Part 2 he falls for it yet again and has to get bailed out by Pochita. He regressed as a character and got rewarded for it

I hate ending’s like this where everything is just conveniently “reset”. The entire character development of Denji & Asa and their relationship was pointless, it led nowhere They both end up being the same people there were before. No consequences, no growth, no change. #csm232
Kumi@D_Kumii

I’m fine with the bittersweet ending, where Denji forgets the best thing that ever happened to him in exchange for a somewhat normal life as a devil hunter

@Luiisss_26 @Namaryuu I mean, it's obviously not a dream. When CSM erases something, it doesn't mean it never existed despite everyone forgetting about it. The events of the manga had to happen for the lesson to be learned. I think it's beautiful to see everyone being given a real chance at life.

@Snipey13 @Namaryuu That's exactly what I thought too. That if it was a dream, parts 1 and 2 simply don't exist because they weren't real. But for me, the scene with Denji and Asa when she said "Thank you, Chainsaw Man" confirmed that it wasn't a dream. In my opinion.

To have all of it erased just for a cheap and lazy way to seemingly satisfy the fans with no regard to the characters, story, the years built over is nothing but a betrayal. A ridiculous act that spits in the face of supporters and leaves you hollow.

@FloHamma @SouIscus @KaiyoBreeze Doesn't Denji deserve to live his life free from those thoughts? A normal life is the greatest kindness he can receive, it's a life where can have real growth as a human being and not be shackled down by Chainsaw Man. Everyone can *finally* grow for themselves in a healthy way.

@SouIscus @KaiyoBreeze I just wish there was some sort of scene where Denji realizes it for himself that he's better off without Pochita now. As is he had zero agency in the ending of his own series and never actually had an ounce of development

@Namaryuu @Luiisss_26 I fully believe this story in the way that it played out, ending included, was the plan all along. It's not lazy or rushed, that's what the author wanted for his story from the beginning.

@LilithLovett If that's your takeaway from it I'm not sure you're understanding what the series is about. That shit was not only planned from the beginning, it was also beautiful. It's about so many things and I love the way every theme just comes together at the end.

@Ichigo_WD @Zoda_X Isn't the point that they were spared from the burdens of their misery and the painful growth that came from it? They weren't growing to be better people and were allowing their selfishness and shortcomings get the better of them.

The issue is that her entire journey in Part 2 is now irrelevant. She hasn't grown as a character. Her story was just completely erased and then rewritten. Asa's story was made to be meaningless.

I feel like some of you do need to understand that Asa’s story does kinda complete WITH THIS She was ready to take a step towards bettering herself and regaining her self esteem, and killing Bucky shattered it all. This literally might be the happiest moment in her entire life

- Time travel and everyone is revived - Nayuta replaces Makima - Yoru doesn't show up - Aki doesn't exist - Chainsaws still exists despite the fact that the Chainsaw Devil erased himself, can be explained with some stretching, but still weird. Final Chapter Score: 0 / 10

@Snipey13 @toruforevamente @neitotopias I guess you're right, people love to imagine something is deep when in reality it's fucking flat and meaningless. And then we become disappointed when we realize it wasn't anything like we imagined. In reality, part 2 always sucked balls, but I didn't want to see it.

@InfeLuisG @toruforevamente @neitotopias It's pretty obvious where Aki is. Why would he be a devil hunter in this world? Kobeni's devil being unanswered is way better and funnier than the any answer could be. Nah, this wasn't rushed, it was the intention. None of the other questions mattered, it was a mess on purpose.

@broskiFGC The more I think about it the less I think it was rushed. This shit was intentional. Part 1 was a lesson in the misery Chainsaw Man brings, part 2 was an intentional escalation of absurdity leading to a point where the plug must be pulled. Chainsaw Man himself was the problem.

@momo_e250 @DatChaosGuy @gojichronic Yeah, in perspective I see how this was intended all along. It's an allegory and a deconstruction of the hero power fantasy. It's incredibly satisfying to get to see Denji finally be oblivious to the world and free of burdens. All he ever needed was a chance to be normal.

@aslaragaus @aidlambv2 The Gun Devil being used to try to kill Makima was the reason for Aki's family dying. No Chainsaw Man means no Makima means Aki's chilling at home or in college or something having a good time. Denji doesn't actually have Pochita as his heart, that's just imagery.

And that’s chainsaw man, ending feels slightly rushed and I am kinda confused how Nayuta is here (is it cause denji ate makima??) However emotionally it feels beautiful, Denji has power back, met Asa and while not the same, has Nayuta back. I’m just glad he didn’t die #CSM232

@MadamLaconic @Lostlinx0 @the_2734 @esonoku The well-being of the Dessendres being a step more important in the eyes of some is not in any way indicative of the world and people being lost being unimportant. Loss is the point, and acknowledgement of those we've lost is the entire point. How is there not meaning in that?

@Lostlinx0 @Snipey13 @the_2734 @esonoku The fact that more people thought to side with Verso means that more people interpreted the game as emphasizing the Dessendre family's well-being over the very existence of the painted world. Which necessitates that people believe the painted world doesn't matter at all.

@MadamLaconic @the_2734 @esonoku Sorry but like, what? Even if one ending is preferable, that never meant that the painting didn't matter. Renoir being forced to destroy the last remnant of his son's soul for the sake of his family is meaningful. Grief is extremely meaningful. Loss leaves a notable presence.

@Snipey13 @the_2734 @esonoku No, it definitely was. Considering Verso's ending is the most popular, it's clear to say people ended up agreeing with Renoir in the end that the painted world just didn't matter and was keeping the Dessandre family from grieving. This meant the entire plot was pointless.
