The 🇬🇧 HMS Queen Elizabeth is anything but a toy. It's a SVTOL carrier built around the F-35B. It doesn't need a crew of 4,000+, just ~600 will do. It's also not nuclear powered making it much safer.

Many people don't appreciate this but the direct strength of the US military back in 2003 exceeds its current direct strength by a large factor.
Somehow, the US PSYOPed itself that its real strength was through indirect interventions and it allowed its military to rot ever since.

@ryanscottborman @Jehkosa @halcyon_dot_exe No. It works by forcing the long-rod penetrator to pass through alternating layers of materials with vastly different densities and hardnesses thus causing the round to tumble or destabilize. There is no getting the front and rear to go different ways.

Composite armor defeats kinetic penetrators by destabilizing a round causing it to lose penetrating ability. It has nothing to do with twisting. A simply google search would have saved you so much trouble there

They need the leverage of being somewhat apart but have to be compact enough to fit on the tank, and it needs to have more than one in contact

Obtuse pieces of metal don’t have high penetration that’s why APFSDS is a dart. The 200mm comes from the empty space it must travel through as well as the engine and transmission + spall liner.
