@qorquiq +1 for Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher. Excellent bundle, you own it forever, etc., and its interface isn’t crazy different from Adobe.

@Superpig @SoftLeafStudios I believe they meant for the engine itself. I presume screen reader support for the built projects would be there too, but the actual editors rarely if ever have screen reading, or a way to navigate without the GUI and a mouse.

@SoftLeafStudios @Snoopy_20111 What do you mean by "natively support?" There's some screen reader functionality built into both Unity (unity.com/blog/engine-pl…) and Unreal (dev.epicgames.com/documentation/…).

@thewritegame Fantastic list with diverse but digestible content. I would’ve killed for this class. Do you have thoughts on finding ways to talk about longer games (not playable in 2-4 hours) and/or too dense (MMO’s, Dwarf Fortress)? If you do and cover those, do the students “get” them?

@tstrahle If you have a Finale license, I believe there’s a program going to let you move to Dorico for a fraction of the usual cost (~$150). Other than that, MuseScore seems like your best bet, what with being free.

So composer friends, just found out that Finale will be no longer updatable - Sibelius is only subscription. Not interested. I don't use it enough to justify the cost. Thoughts? Mostly creating examples for my YouTUbe channel and doing lead sheets.

@GamersOdyssey @OverJumpRally Not sure what you mean by “later” Forza games…it was introduced with FM3, in 2009. That was 15 years ago! Agreed with the rest though, much more interesting to go with the mistakes in many cases.

@OverJumpRally In later Forza games there is a rewind button to instantly correct a mistake. I've also noticed it in Dayton USA HD in PS360 era. It's a very tempting mechanic since you don't have to restart the stage, on the other hand it ruins the experience if abused. Good thing it's optional

@Hyper_Falcon I think away from the right-wing stuff and desire for spicy Reddit drama, the main cause is Live Service Expectation Inflation. Many take the speed and volume of content delivery like in Fortnite to just be the standard, when it’s actually an unbelievable, Herculean feat.

how long should I wait on the title screen before showing my old-school arcade style attract mode? (currently it's set to 10 seconds at first, but if the attract loads and you exit it, it takes 20 seconds for it to appear again)

@virtualstatman I suppose it depends how you watch them. If they were something you mean to watch live, absolutely fatiguing. If you’re like me and stream the sessions on a delay from your phone, it feels like much less pressure, more like long-form YouTube uploads in a weird way.

Out of interest, do any of you start to suffer from F1 fatigue when there are so many races in succession? Belgium will be the fifth Grand Prix in the past six weeks #BelgianGP

@transmutrix The short answer is it sucks. The only mitigating factor is making sure those iterations are dense. Changing one value and recompiling isn’t enough, in those cases you gotta do a lot of work at once and take notes.

How do people deal with slow scripts, builds, etc? If you're ever waiting 3 minutes for anything, how does that not destroy your concentration and creativity? Maybe this is the "ADHD brain" I hear so much about, but I can't tolerate that sort of thing, at all. Maybe I can learn.

Imagine going to a school where its entire identity and all its chants revolved around beating a team they have avoided playing for over 13 years and ditched conferences to “be their own brand” and “separate themselves” from that very same team that they “aren’t obsessed” with..
