The defender has an obligation to take into consideration that a player is on the ground. He doesn't have carte blanche to swing this leg at it that way.

@scotlandscoeff1 That's not how the rule is interpreted. Kabore isn't doing anything by his own action that threatens to injure himself. The defender, by HIS actions, is doing something to injure an opponent.

Having watched this again, the Hearts player actually headers the ball away from the Motherwell player. IFAB describe "Playing in a dangerous manner is any action that, while trying to play the ball, threatens injury to someone (including the player themself)" Fair argument to say it's dangerous play by the Hearts player as heading the ball while lying on the crowd opens you up to the chance of taking a boot to the head.... x.com/i/status/20430…

That should 100% be a free kick to Motherwell for "playing in a dangerous manner". Referees just don’t know, understand or able to interpret the basic laws of the game. Not biased. Just incompetent
