The saddest part of my childhood was seeing Maxxor say goodbye to Tangath Toborn at the end of the last episode, while unknowingly saying goodbye to us Chaotic fans as well😭

Super excited for the Chaotic Revival but I think everyone wishing for a "Hard Reboot" needs to articulate exactly what they are hoping for. Do I think old codes should be redeemable? Probably not. Not because it would necessarily be unfair, because I don't necessarily believe that. I think the new cards will more than be able to hold their own to the approximate power level the game had before it went on Hiatus. But because most of the old codes have up on Ebay for anyone to steal for the last 16 years. There is no guarantee which codes have even been redeemed and which haven't, so ultimately its for the best if they are unavailable to everyone. In the event they were available however, the solution would simply be to disallow them from being used until reprints were made available. Rotating formats & ban lists, as many other TCGs use. As for IRL cards, the fear of old players rolling up to stomp newbies at their locals falls apart when you stop to think about it for even a moment. No locals is going to allow that, unless its specifically marketed format where you are told ahead of time old cards will be legal. (Which should absolutely exist be allowed to exist) There is no reason to encourage fundamentally redesigning the game from the ground up just to avoid being stomped by legacy cards at your locals. There are myriad solutions to this problem that don't include erasing 20 years of Chaotic history.
