A Green Party candidate pushing Britain to pay trillions of pounds in slavery reparations is descended from a Nigerian royal family that traded slaves. Antoinette Fernandez is the 'reparations officer' for the party's Global Majority Greens group which campaigns for 'racial and environmental justice'. Absolute circus.

A man on a hiking trail walked past Doris this morning. He was new to the area. He had come up for the weekend, was working through a guidebook recommendation, and was, by his own quiet admission, having a hard time of it. He had not, in his planning, factored in the gradient. He sat on the stile by Doris's lower wall at approximately 10.40am. He took out a water bottle. He looked at the fell. He looked at his map. He looked at the fell again. Doris was on the upper section, into the wind, doing the thing she does. The man watched her for a few minutes. He drank some water. He breathed slowly. The wind moved across the grass in the way wind does on the Lakeland fells, which is to say with the kind of sustained patience that makes a person reconsider their relationship with effort. He sat there for half an hour. He has not, as far as Brian is aware, told anyone what he was thinking about. He started walking again at 11.10am. He went up. He made the summit by 1pm. He came back past Doris on the way down, slowed at the wall, looked at her, nodded once, and continued. Brian saw the whole thing from the kitchen window. He has not, in thirty-one years on this farm, come up with a simpler description of why the fell matters. The fell is a place where a person can sit on a wall, watch a sheep, and decide to keep going. That is, in the end, most of what the British countryside is for. The countryside cannot do this if there is no fell. There is no fell without grazing. There is no grazing without Doris. Defend the working landscape. The man on the stile is the reason.

Back in the 80s, I remember my dad correcting my brother and his mates if he heard them speaking disrespectfully about girls and women. Teenage boys are full of hormones - they need boundaries and they need older men to set them. But it was my mum who really laid down the law. My brothers’ friends all knew not to step out of line around her. Now, some parents actively campaign for their sons to use girls’ changing rooms, toilets and other intimate spaces - to be part of female only clubs/societies. And encourage so-called “allies” to help them get their boys into female spaces. Others say nothing at all. Even when they know it crosses a line. Even though they know this undermines girls’ boundaries - and the legal protections that exist. For good reason. Or could even place them at risk of harm. And somehow, this is framed as being the “good” side. It took me longer than it should have to see the full picture on gender ideology. But I was clear with my own child from the outset: boys/men have no business being in women’s single sex spaces. Regardless of how they ‘identify’. That hasn’t always been easy. At times, it’s created tension between us. Not because she truly believes it’s fair - it’s nigh on impossible to defend males in female spaces against the wishes of the women and girls in them. But because young women today are under intense social pressure to accept it. To go along. To stay quiet. And that pressure - more than anything - is what should concern us.

In his debate with Gary Priestley, Gary Stevenson claims he makes so much money on the markets, his kids will be multimillionaires, while also claiming that everyone else cannot afford to feed their kids or keep the heating on. Strange then, that after a hiatus last year, his return video announced the launch of his Patreon, directly asking his audience, whom he describes as struggling, to fund his work. He explained that, despite his massive personal wealth, he needs their support to create more 'ambitious' and 'creative' content beyond simple talking-head videos. Yet since launching the Patreon, he has released 22 videos in the exact same format, with fewer guests than in earlier periods. He has 2,121 paid subscribers on Patreon, meaning that at a minimum he makes £153k a year from his viewers. He likely makes a similar amount from ad revenue alone, let alone the millions he claims to make on the markets. His entire platform is built on the idea that the rich extract wealth from everyone else. The brazen hypocrisy of him doing this to his own viewers, in the most direct way possible, is incredible.

Kemi Badenoch gets shouted down, called “far right” and just states it plainly: she’s on the right. No apology. No backtracking. Just clarity. That’s exactly what’s been missing from British politics. The country isn’t crying out for more vague, watered down positioning, it wants conviction. If the Conservatives are serious about rebuilding, this is the direction.

@EdwardJDavey, a few facts worth considering before blaming Brexit for everything. France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Greece, Belgium and the Netherlands are all contending with exactly the same problem. Mass uncontrolled immigration, overwhelmed asylum systems and the collapse of the Dublin Regulation that was supposed to ensure migrants claimed asylum in the first safe country they reached. The method of arrival differs because we are an island. The crisis is identical. None of them have left the European Union. Germany under Angela Merkel admitted over a million people in 2015, a decision that reshaped European migration policy, accelerated the collapse of the Dublin Regulation and signalled to people smuggling networks across the world that the route into Europe was open. The small boats crisis did not begin with the Brexit referendum. It began with that decision and the institutional collapse that followed it. The EU's own Return Regulation, voted through the European Parliament in March 2026 by 389 votes to 206, now allows detention of migrants for up to 24 months and deportation to third countries with which individuals have no connection. These are the same institutions that spent years criticising Britain's Rwanda scheme. They have reached the same conclusion Britain reached years ago and implemented it at scale. Brexit had nothing to do with their problem and nothing to do with their solution. On Zia Yusuf's detention centre policy. The legitimate criticism is whether locating facilities for political purposes rather than practical ones is the right approach. That is a fair debate. But the LibDems spent the coalition years in government overseeing a system that produced the current backlog, opposed every meaningful enforcement measure since and are now criticising Reform for proposing solutions while offering none of their own. Charlatan is a strong word from the leader of a party whose answer to the small boats crisis has been absolutely nothing for fifteen years. "Angela Merkel admitted over a million people in 2015, a decision that reshaped European migration policy, [...] and signalled to people smuggling networks across the world that the route into Europe was open."

minimum wage discourse in the uk rn is amazing because people with zero experience claim that if small independent businesses can't afford an 18% increase in costs they aren't running a viable business while simultaneously complaining that every big profitable company is evil

Never forget the sheer arrogance and hypocrisy of London’s Muslim mayor. In 2018, while visiting Pakistan, Sadiq Khan openly attacked Donald Trump for recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital — calling it “offensive” to Muslims. This corrupt politician has the audacity to tell the Jewish state it has no right to decide its own capital. There was never a Palestinian state, not in 1947, not in 1967, not ever. Yet Khan wants to hand Jerusalem to Palestinian Muslims, fully knowing they demand the total destruction of Israel and the ethnic cleansing of every Jew from the Holy Land. Show me one single Muslim country where non-Muslim minorities are truly protected. Just one. There isn’t any. The globalist tyrant of London believes Muslims have the right to run the world. He should be deeply ashamed of himself. While he destroys London with open borders, grooming gangs, no-go zones and weekly hate marches filled with swastikas, he simultaneously works to weaken the only Jewish state and hand its eternal capital to the same Hamas terrorists who raped, murdered and burned 1,200 Jews on October 7. Unlike Britain, which surrendered its capital to a Pakistani colonialist jihadist, Israel will never bow to global jihad. Sadiq Khan is not just a failed mayor. He is a Muslim supremacist who puts Islamic interests above the safety of Londoners and the very existence of the Jewish people.

Darling Yvette Cooper, How very touching. The same government that cannot stop illegal migrants crossing the Channel, cannot protect British pensioners from freezing, and cannot keep violent offenders off our streets has apparently found the money and the will to tie Britain into yet another EU financial scheme. One must admire the elegance with which you dress up the slow reversal of Brexit as “European unity.” The British people voted to leave the European Union. They did not vote to rejoin it through the back door by signing up to EU loan programmes, EU defence funds, or any other mechanism designed to drag this country back into the orbit of Brussels. You speak of standing with Ukraine “for as long as it takes.” The question, of course, is how long British taxpayers are expected to fund a corrupt foreign war while their own country is left to rot. The same ministers who lecture us about “European unity” seem remarkably untroubled by the unity of British people who would quite like their own borders secured and their own streets made safe before they are asked to bankroll another foreign adventure. On the 7th of May the British people will begin the long overdue process of removing you from office. One council at a time. Britain First. No Surrender. 🦁🇬🇧

Putin’s illegal invasion of Ukraine continues to be met by European unity. Working together to equip Ukraine to defend itself, the UK will enter talks to join the EU loan programme. We will stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes. 🇺🇦🇬🇧 bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
