Sorry buddy. You can be perfect at customer service and you're still going to have people yelling at you because they are in the wrong and being unreasonable. If you're trying to act like you did 32 years and customer service and people weren't yelling at you and calling you names then you're lying to me. Just flat out lying. And that is backed up by hundreds of years of research on how people act. Your entire argument is, no I'm right, you must just suck at this. Am I wrong for giving my delivery driver a bad rating over her outfit? 🤔 Picture this: You order dinner, pay the fees, leave a tip, and wait for your food to arrive. You go out to meet the driver, and she pulls up looking like she literally just rolled out of bed. Tonight, my delivery driver stepped out of her car wearing full pajama pants, a hair bonnet, and slippers. She was carrying bags from multiple places and a drink, casually shuffling across the wet asphalt in her slippers like this was just a quick trip to her own mailbox. Listen, I am not saying you need to show up in business casual to deliver food. But if you are clocking in to work, handling people's meals, and meeting customers face-to-face at their homes, shouldn't there be a bare minimum standard of presentation? I ended up leaving a low rating because, honestly, what am I rewarding here? The slippers on the wet pavement? The fact that she got dressed half-asleep five minutes before picking up my food? If looking halfway presentable is too much to ask, maybe this isn't the right gig. Am I being too harsh, or has the standard for delivery drivers completely disappeared?

Most of my customers were good, loyal customers and I was part of the reason for that. You’re saying that anyone who is in the service industry is always treated line shit and yelled at?

No I didn't say that I've changed jobs very often. In fact I do very good at the service industry. But the thing is, people like you come in thinking you're better than us. And treat us that way. I don't believe you worked the service industry for 32 years. Because if you did, there's no fucking way that you would just put yourself on the customer side instantly. Because if you actually did work those jobs from the perspective of these people then you would know that an actual good customer is very rare. If you actually did, then you've dealt with people that treat you like shit because they're having a bad day. You've dealt with people yelling at you because their boss pissed them off before they left work and now they're taking it out on you. You've had to sit there and treat these people with kindness even though they're treating you with the opposite. I guess I'm just one of those weird people that expects to be treated with the same respect that I treat other people with. Fucking strange isn't it
