Too many are too polite to say this.
But mass ritual prayer in public places is an act of domination.
The adhan - which declares there is no god but allah and Muhammad is his messenger - is, when called in a public place, a declaration of domination.
Perform these rituals in mosques if you wish. But they are not welcome in our public places and shared institutions.
And given their explicit repudiation of Christianity they certainly do not belong in our churches and cathedrals.
I am not suggesting everybody at Trafalgar Square last night is an Islamist. But the domination of public places is straight from the Islamist playbook.
Trafalgar Square belongs to all of us. It is a national memorial to our independence and our salvation.
Last night was not like a televised football match or a St Patrick’s Day celebration.
It was an act of domination and therefore division.
It shouldn’t happen again.

@batcountry1980 Not only that but Jimmy Page's plagiarism alone discounts Zeppelin as a great band for me and completely undercuts his argument. They were a very good band at times, an important and inspirational one perhaps, but are a long way short of the best.

Starting any criticism of the Beatles, or pretty much any band in the history of music, with “I own a lot of Jethro Tull” puts your argument on a hiding to nothing right from the get go.

I own a lot of Jethro Tull. I own all of Led Zeppelin. I own a lot of Yes. But I only have a "best of" remaster for The Beatles' top-most hits. For a reason. In their moment, they were the greatest Boy Band hit machine anyone had ever seen. But they also suffered colossal audience capture as a result. And it cost them. By 1969 the stress of grinding out catchy Top 40 had doomed the project. They were neither the best musicians, nor the best song-writers. Merely, the best "product" for a radio era which demanded it of them.

@NathanB30426880 @StanCollymore There's 11 games left. Sunderland only need 3 points and they'll have enough to survive. Palace and Brighton are only 1 and 2 points behind them. All of them are out of the race after the results this weekend.

@edlonguk @MrJamesMay As far as i can see the government are breaking their own laws. You cant sell things in pounds and ounces but you can be instrucred in miles per hour? Why?

Just been nicked for a second time for doing more than 20mph in outer London while a mate of mine in North London faces losing his licence soon for running up 12pts for breaking that limit 4 times. There will be record driving disqualification going through the courts. . Khan will be so pleased. Almost impossible to do 20mph for any period of time. Cars weren’t built to go that slowly.
