Nigerian Army, leave the South East and focus on Plateau. Leave the East and focus on Kaduna. Leave the East and focus on Kwara. Leave the East and focus on Ondo. Leave the East and focus on Benue. Focus on the North and West, where there are numerous cases of insecurity.

We constantly emphasize that we are not the same as the Northerners or Hausas, yet every day we see our own people still referring to themselves as “Northern Christians” or “Arewa Christians.” This needs to stop. By continuously attaching ourselves to “Northern” or “Arewa” labels, we are undoing the very identity we are trying to build and project. People from other regions already struggle to see the clear distinctions between us and the core North. When we keep using these terms, we reinforce the very confusion and stereotypes we complain about. Let us be intentional with our language. We are not “Northern Christians.” We are Middle Beltans. Our progress depends on clarity of identity. Let’s stop taking ourselves backwards.
