No, they had to make the deal because they needed the roster spot. The point of the earlier tweet was that the guy can play and contribute in the NHL

@BlackAndGold277 @MarkDivver I don’t get a chance to see Providence games, & his winning % has been extremely good while there, as an honest question, has winning taken more of a priority over developing or is it the fact that the players themselves have just not taken the next step in their development?

@MarkDivver The accolades will largely go unseen with the Bruins' track record of advancing prospects to the NHL, and he is to blame for not "getting" those players to the level of consistent NHL time. Such a lazy narrative, in my opinion.

The talk on #NHLBruins prospect Will Zellers (No. 9 in white) has been his scoring. Last night, his impact went far beyond that. Both UND EV goals started from Zellers winning a puck battle followed by setting up his teammates to eventually score.

@TianoDom27109 Obviously the 2 forwards listed get the most attention, but Groenewold’s game with his size is very intriguing to me. As a 4th rounder I think there is legitimate upside to him as well.

@scottcwheeler Long term project pick, in reality it really should be his freshman year. You can already see the improvement in his game. His skating is very good, physical play is improving and the offensive skills are certainly there. High risk/reward pick trending in the right direction

Dean Letourneau’s (BOS) first NCAA goal is a beauty and a big one. This always should have been his freshman year.

@plaverty24 @BruinsCapSpace My question with him is why did he sign that deal? You would have to think some type of promise or guarantee was given? If not, with the interest in him I'm sure he gets the same deal with a better opprtunity elsewhere

The Bruins sign John Farinacci to 1 year $775k. My guess is this is how the organizational will enter training camp, offseason likely over. Bottom 6 forward group is anyone's guess, but seems to be an open competition at the moment.
