If Trump allows Israel to continue pounding Lebanon, the war will resume, simple as that. Peace is on the table. Iran and the Trump administration clearly want it. There is no authoritative, bilateral confirmation that this was a mutually agreed concession across all parties. Only unilateral statements from two parties. One Pakistani and the other Iranian, to the best of my knowledge.
Additionally, there is no coherent legal or operational basis to treat Hezbollah as bound by this ceasefire.
Is Iran is trying to expand the perceived scope of the ceasefire without accepting the legal consequences of controlling those actors?
I’m not buying that we mutually conceded this point without seeing real receipts like official communique or recordings that explicitly state that Hezbollah, a non-state actor in a different battle space, was included.
