It was painted over a few days (and nights) in a very poorly lit parking lot behind the restaurant I lived above in Glenside. Painted on 36" wide muslin & every square inch was covered in paint (Ben Mitchell used about 1 gallon in a 3 ft square in the background).

The design was based on the cover art from the NA release of FFVII and featured nods to Bethlehem Steel F.C. The figure (at least the hair) was based on Eric Shertz, who passed April of that year. I don't know who's paint footprint that is.

During the early round games I was listening to @MegaRan's Final Fantasy VII concept album "Black Materia". I decided before the Quarter Final that if we were to host the Final, I was making the tifo Final Fantasy inspired.
