This was exactly one year ago today. God time flies. Never would I have imagined the experience I was in for along with @kalamazoolocal and to have the game be as incredible as it was. It still takes my breath away. 💙❤️💙❤️@Emily_Wade

@SoCalAvsFan When did Vegas when the 4th and close out the series?

I'm nearing a sense of peace when it comes to this Avs season. Next year we will have brand new division champion banner along with the presidents trophy banner. Those really are special accomplishments. The team was unstoppable for months on end. It truly was special to see. We made it farther than 28 other teams .. making the west final is nothing to be ashamed of. In the end we got out played by a team that has owned us for years. It happens. It doesn't erase the team or what they accomplished. I'm looking forward to next season where I truly believe avs will be just as good as before - I think it's ridiculous to say the window has closed. Avs will be right there. Yea. This hurts. This will take a lot of time to fully recover from. But when you do I hope you can see that there was a lot of good to reflect on this year. And next year will be even better as we play in the winter classic - I'm excited for what's planned in the coming year ! Stay strong Avs Faithful 💙 ♥️

@TheProspectNerd 1000 percent. Unfortunately I completely understand not being able to see that in the short term. For many it's going to take time before getting to that point.

@SoCalAvsFan Yep. Most say cup or bust, but winning the cup is extremely hard. Very low odds, even for the best team in the league. Puck luck, hot goalies, injuries, major factors I say any time you can hang a banner it’s a pretty success season. Like winning Silver or Bronze in the Olympics

@IvoryCoast99 Absofuckinglutely. I think it's damn impressive to have ran the table as the best team out of 32 in 82 games. It's obviously nowhere near playoff success. But it's not nothing and should still be considered something to appreciate and celebrate

@SoCalAvsFan Agree. I'd say most hockey fans say the Presidents trophy is pointless, but I've always thought it's awesome to be able to say you won the most games in the season. Just knowing on most nights throughout the year I get to watch my team win. It's awesome.

@SoCalAvsFan What a great attitude! I really wish there were more fans like you! If the Knights loose, I would have the exact same attitude and applaud them for the fabulous job that they have done in the off-season! They had no goaltender the whole season. Now they have one!⚔️🛡️👑🏆

@SoCalAvsFan Maybe but nobody expected them to get steam rolled like this, if they had gotten it to a game six or seven in this series, it would’ve been better than what you’ve seen. But I think everybody’s too focused on the AVS.

It's weird to think but I feel like if the Avs would've lost to the Wild in 6 or 7 games it would be viewed more favorably then losing to VGK in the west final. It's bizarre but I feel like - much like losing to Dallas the year prior - the avs would've been given a bit of "central division grace" that the big 3 in the central are the big 3 in the league - and that there isn't as much shame in losing to them. But now that we lose to the Pacific Champion Vegas it's viewed as an utter collapse of epic proportions. Am I wrong here ?

Yup. Getting Goalied happens. It just does. Some people are looking at Vegas as some small underdog team we are losing to that had no business making the playoffs and this is some sort of all time playoff upset. It's just not the case. I give Vegas a ton of credit. They've outplayed us fair and square. Can't do anything about the injuries. Just is what it is.

@SoCalAvsFan Yes, cause Vegas is a better team with Championship pedigree and being a constant force. Their goalies were below .90 save percentage during the season. Now, they have an elite goalie outplaying ours every game.

@Avs_Nation_ @bucky620 If the Avs would've lost to the kings. THAT would've been a failure. A million percent. And that would've been like a clean the house failure. Avs are in the final 4. They'll be hanging some banners next year. They had 2 losses at Christmas time. It was a helluva year

@bucky620 @SoCalAvsFan No I agree with a lot of what you’re saying. It hurts like hell knowing this team doesn’t have it. We all believed they did for 7 months. I just don’t think we can call the season a failure because we didn’t win the cup. There a lot of good teams in the league and Vegas is one

It's just hard to view 9 months of work as binary. Even some of the greatest teams go several seasons without a cup. It takes so much more than just skill. It involves a whole lot of luck as well. Lucky bounces. Injury luck. Just a lot of stuff out of a teams control. If they played this series with both teams at full strength the avs would win 90 percent of the time. Sometimes It just not meant to be

@SoCalAvsFan Bob Wischusen should be the number one guy for ESPN. He brings excitement to the games and he is miles ahead of the bland Sean McDonough.

On the flip side. With the Avs season ending we don't have to listen to the fucking god awful espn pxP coverage anymore. Sean McDonough is OBJECTIVELY the worst announcer on either network. Just the worst. No bigger fail then not bringing back Gary Thorne

YES! Exactly. And honestly I think given time and space most fans will agree with that. It's just super raw right now. I get that. Going through all the stages of grief. I'm so used to the emotional terrorism of losing in overtime in game 7s that having this slow death has been I think easier to process

@SoCalAvsFan Avs went through the whole year really escaping injury issues, it really caught up to them here and with their best players. This could and prolly would have been a different series without the players missing time.

@bleauliner @DNVR_Rudo I agree as well. 72 hours ago we were in the midst of the greatest statistical season in the history of the Avs. We ran into a team that fucking owns us and it's Joever. Idk I'm as doomposter as it gets but I'm not ready to say the core is done

I have had a lot of grieving in my life the past 12 months. And that's what this feels like. An era dead. Some of the best moments of my life are now a historical event. We grow but it hurts.
