@BettrHumnNuName You’re saying what I’m saying in reverse. The original post was just saying that the hype died in the venue, which is totally reasonable. The response of, “shouldn’t we just accept it?” doesn’t mean anything here because it doesn’t change the situation at all.

I don’t know where this thought process originated from but the idea that people will just complain about the next thing has NEVER been a good reason to not fix/nerf something. This is a thought terminating statement.

@RyanJosephHart There's a difference between the type and magnitude of complaints. I can give light complaints about something i just don't like or the whole playerbase can be seriously reacting negatively to the entire state of a game. Some of these cant just be "accepted".

I get the concern but the response to this has me feeling like when some oldhead would pull up to me at work and say something like, “I don’t use that cause it can be tracked”……….. I got some bad news for you man.

@BlazingBocchi There may be a misunderstanding, im talking about forcing players to play a set or else they lose points. Whether it’s Bo3 or Bo5 is a seperate discussion, but most fighting games (at least the popular ones), don’t force you to play a set at all, you can just leave after a game.

@SoakedRat Ft3 in ranked has a valid argument. I think most opt for Bo2 since you have to make it through the Bo2 gauntlet before you get to a Bo3 in most games, but it a game like strive has been Bo3 for as long as it has been then update that shit after a year or less

More games should actually force Bo3 in ranked. In the age of good netcode with connection/wifi indicators there’s really no good reason not to. And it’s actually really really weird that saying that in this community has only brought me pushback.

I think fighting games should stop forcing ft2 in ranked. Ft1 is all that is necessary. That was arcade standard. The casual competitive people always act like they want to run a set but they never enter tournaments anyway and they always want to limit the game to dumb stuff like “low tiers only” etc. Then you get the entitlement like they are owed a set just because. If you want to play a locked set then enter a tournament or make casual match queue endless fights until someone quits. Ft1 also allows you more variety of what you will play against. People will say ft2 like tournament but in tournament you’re allowed to switch characters if you lose but the way ranked is built in these games doesn’t allow it. So if you’re gonna simulate tournaments then simulate it all the way.

@UkiyoFGC The game was fine on ft2 but was mainly changed due to outcry from top players (some of which who aren't active in strive anymore) and the top heavy power level was definitely adding to that, but the game is way more balanced now and ft2 is a reasonable suggestion.

Am I just old or something? This game was passable at best. Even after the fanbase had already accepted that CoD will never be as good as even Ghost/MW3, which also weren't even that good when they came out. We are like 4 layers down from 'peak' CoD.

HALO is a mediocre game that only got attention because it was Baby's First FPS for console dorks. Everything it did had already been done by PC shooters like HALF-LIFE or NO ONE LIVES FOREVER, but better (which is why HALO was ignored when it was released on PC).
