I saw a picture in a magazine and I counted 28 horses and riders at a branding, yet I have a bull in about 1/3 of my “steer” calf pens every year, I don’t really care if you rope and drag or how you do it, just get it done.

I fully expect a lot of video cattle will bring $1.90-2.00 on a bawling 600-750lb wt str in MT, WY, ND, SD, and W NE on Superior Sale in a couple of weeks. Wouldn’t surprise me if it’s even higher yet!!

@Chris1009 @RandyYmker Thats what is hurting the cattle industry.we need to stay current on weight,to many custom yards like to make the cattle to heavy no matter of cog,many cattle would make a profit if marketed properly for the owners, stay current thats what counts

@KornKattle @FDGenetics I’m proposing a 10,000hd/day plant be built in Huron. They will pay $50/hr and $15 over the current cash bids. Not quite certain on funding quite yet but it will be glorious

I wonder how many of the Big 4 are thinking in the back of their minds-with all these new plants opening-and how supply works-in a couple of years we can just buy up these plants when they go belly up instead of having to upgrade what we currently have?

@PatShields13 @FDGenetics Yeah, S.D. c-o-f as of May 1 was only 220K. So at 2.5 turns per year (which is a stretch nowadays - 2.0 is probably a better number....) that's only 550K per year. Assuming no Saturdays and at 6.5K a day, that's short of 17 weeks of supply. A real head-scratcher for me....

@FDGenetics 8000 head a day in western SD is alot of cattle, I'd like to see a cow and Bull kill plant which would probably be better on getting number in western SD, Wyoming,MT,Neb, My opinion
