We closed out our Equity Crowdfunding campaign last night. Grateful to all of our new Shareholders who funded our path to UL certification and scaled manufacturing. Thanks to you, #IntelligentInfrastructure will be able to start spreading across the US and eventually the 🌎.

@SolarRoadways @alex_fasulo I'm aware you're not yet in full production, but name dropping gives people a nudge to look into your technology. As you pointed out: keeping our wilderness & farms in tact is exactly what we need~ Peace.

The land under these panels will never be farmed again. Potato growing associations nationwide will not buy potatoes grown on ex-solar sites. Why? The panels leach heavy metals, as well as drop glass shards and microplastics onto the soil below them. In a mass commercial arrangement, vegetation below the panels is soaked in herbicides. The fertile farmland is gone forever.

@StephanJaeckel @Rainmaker1973 Well Solar Road Panels are fully modular. They all have heating elements but customers would never turn them on if they don't need them. We haven't added the pressure sensors yet - that will be external to the panels and optional for those who want that feature.

@SolarRoadways @Rainmaker1973 I was thinking of modularisation of capabilities. Illuminated rooftop bar floors are cool. But not everywhere the heating is needed. Not everywhere pressure-sensitivity is needed. So I was wondering how modular you've made the capabilities of solar roadways tiles.

Switzerland is turning the unused space between train tracks into solar power plants. A startup called Sun-Ways is piloting removable solar panels that roll out like a carpet between the rails. No new land needed, easy to maintain, they feed clean energy straight into the grid.

@TinaMDeraco @alex_fasulo Thank you so much for your support. 💚They may not have known about us though. We are not yet in full production but as we open up walking and driving surfaces for solar energy generation, there will not be any need to use farm or wild lands unless that is what people want.

@SolarRoadways You should talk with your city and explain them what their homegrown startup can do for them. Until then your partners and customers find the perfect example of what they are up against right at your doorstep. Best advertising for you! Maybe you did talk with your city?😉

They repaved the street in front of our headquarters...but not the sidewalk. 🧐 Ready for pothole free infrastructure?

Yes, we call that a virtual grid system. Storage can be used as well if the customer desires. Our glass is tested but nowhere near 10". There is a lot of information on our Wefunder page (our campaign is closed now but people are still following us there: wefunder.com/solar.roadways…). You can also sign up for our free Newsletters: Newsletter@SolarRoadways.com. Happy to have your support.

@heypresto9 @rla323 @RipVanWizard @SolarRoadways I believe it is connected to the power grid for the city. This way it can transfer any excess solar power to the grid or receive power if it somehow doesn't have enough overnight stored to continue heating and lighting up. Not sure though. The top is 10" thick glass semi tested

@rla323 @RipVanWizard @heypresto9 Hope they are changed somehow for this. If they were smart, they would work with @SolarRoadways. This could get extra energy to help cover the cost. Plus they also can heat themselves so it can avoid the need for plowing and worry about ice spots on them.

@rla323 @RipVanWizard @heypresto9 @SolarRoadways I have loved the @SolarRoadways project since their version 1 lol. It has evolved a lot. It has controllable LEDs inside it to change the view so warnings can be given. Imagine an accident happens 4 miles ahead in a lane. Suddenly driving closer It is warning you to slow merge

@Zoee_Boxx @SamaHoole Thank you - one possible misconception though: We can't even make it through all of the interested customers that reach out... the fact that you don't see projects all over isn't for lack of popularity, it's bc we haven't made the panels availaible yet.

Activist: "You can graze sheep underneath solar panels. It's called agrivoltaics." Farmer: "I've read the brochures." Activist: "Best of both worlds." Farmer: "The panels shade the sward. Productive species die back. What grows is what tolerates shade and compaction. Sheep won't finish on it." Activist: "But the trials show it works." Farmer: "The trials run three years and measure ewe presence. Not lamb growth rates. Not finishing weights. Not what the soil looks like in year fifteen." Activist: "It's still better than nothing." Farmer: "It's a 30% stocking rate, a steel frame I can't plough around, panel-cleaning chemicals running into the watercourse, and a 40-year lease I can't break." Activist: "But you're getting energy AND lamb." Farmer: "I'm getting a third of the lamb, a maintenance contract, and a field my grandson can't farm." Activist: "You're being negative." Farmer: "I'm watching a thousand-year-old way of feeding people get traded for twenty-five years of subsidised electricity. Negative would be the polite word."

@StephanJaeckel @Rainmaker1973 Yes, we think that's a great application for solar. That's true, our panels would help them with snow mitigation but would be an overkill since they would not be driven on. We could make a "lite" version for that purpose.

South Korea 🇰🇷 A motorway that stretches for 20 miles has a huge solar panel strip down the middle with a cycle path underneath. This is more logical than plastering solar panels on thousands of acres of prime farmland.

@SolarRoadways I see this tech in drive ways, I see it replacing stepping stones, decks tables, overhangs, smaller versions replacing roofing tiles with the lights replacing Christmas lights, indoor versions with solor replaced with power step tech...

Solar on Existing Infrastructure or Wildland and Farmland? What are your thoughts? As we race toward a clean energy future, the biggest debate isn’t whether to go solar -it’s where to put the panels. We are creating Intelligent Infrastructure for walking and driving surfaces.
