When a firm audits a smart contract, it should put collateral up to back their claims. If the contract turns out malicious, they lose the collateral, but if they were right on their bet, then they should get payments over time. An insurance. That's called contract insurance.

Smart contract audits need to include much more detail on scope and specification. What's useful to users is to know what has been checked and certified. Violations / vulnerabilities are mostly for developers to fix. @chain_security @ZeppelinOrg @trailofbits @ConsenSys
