@UnderTheMayo @MrMidnai For years OTS games are criticized for looking "the same" (you just did that in the video) and fixed camera is proped up for being superior. “Fixed camera is art, while OTS is the same modern slop” is what many purists are always repeating and I think it adds to how people react

@UnderTheMayo @MrMidnai I've watched the whole video, many good points I agree with and while I love many games with fixed cameras. You talk about the discourse online and how people react when fixed camera is mentioned, I think this can easily be flipped. (1/2)

Resident Evil and many other games used Fixed Camera in unique and creative ways. Let's talk about it. Video below... Thank you @MrMidnai for pushing me to finally do this one.

The amount of blind praise it's getting isn't any better. "Wow contrast and fake light" We can acknowledge some examples looked good while others like Grace looked like trash. This Leon example isn't really better, it just wowed you with a fake light and sharp reflections
Haider.@slow_developer

the amount of hate on DLSS 5 is ridiculous especially coming from the decels and the gaming community. in fact, the whole gamer bubble is so anti-ai -- they don't even think about it, and their minds act like they're 12 years old "there is a texture with AI cancel the game" is very common so stop caring about gamers

@LumpyTheCook I know people who didn't play the games but nerd out on the lore more than I do. You can draw the line at them discussing or even complaining about gameplay but these games also have a lot of lore and beloved characters, let people enjoy what they want. Who cares

Streaming really has done a number on a generation’s psyche if a statement as simple as “you aren’t actually a fan of a video game if you haven’t played it” can be considered controversial now

@MonsterDragonAS Unfortunately I didn’t try the 9950X3D myself to give a definitive answer, but again, whether or not you get one or the other depends on what you plan on doing

@Solid_Guts Is it useless or not so useful to go the amd9 (as the concern of the setting of the cpu is not as well tweeked as the amd7)?

@Solid_Guts Hi dude I've already asked you this (for a pc which should I chose, AMD9 9950X3D or AMD7 9800X3D). But this is now the new concern, for around same specs (rtx5080, 32gig ddr5 and so on), we have 160€ of difference between AMD7 and AMD9 9900X3D.

@MonsterDragonAS The choice between 9800X3D and 9950X3D is easy and basically what every review will tell you. If your PC is for gaming only and maaaybe some occasional casual video editing, 9800X3D is fine If you do anything that can actually take advantage of more cores, 9950X3D

@DreadyBear Because AMD has by far the loudest fanboys online. They’re all silent when AMD fucks up and loud as hell when Nvidia/Intel fuck up. AMD can do no wrong. I’d say it all comes from when they were still the underdog (in CPUs) and it stayed

I absolutely do not understand the concept that saying anything bad about AMD makes you an Intel shill suddenly. I’m not gonna play nice with AMD because Intel is in a shitty spot. I don’t owe these companies anything to be nice in either direction.

@YoshinoLover08 There’s a difference between publisher and developer but let’s just assume anyway, however much they were involved, you’re talking about the game going on 10 years locked behind the Sony wall and still running at around 25 fps

@MGSMGN It's obvious what the journos and their followers will complain about. Eva, The Boss at the end, Ocelot with Eva, the black face camo and I might be forgetting some. No one will care because no one usually cares. Game journos have as much relevance as the 18+ warning on the hub

Metal Gear Network - MGN
This is not news, but a rambling opinion piece so feel free to scroll on by. 🐍📦❗️ *I apologize if none of this flows well. It's just my rambling thoughts, so please bear with me. This weekend, I reflected on the evolving discourse surrounding Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater since its announcement over a year ago. The fan community's reaction was understandably mixed when the remake was first revealed. Remakes often walk a tightrope between honoring the original and modernizing for new audiences. However, Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater is being approached in a very specific and somewhat different way for various reasons, and thankfully the reception seems to have shifted positively thus far. As we await more information and a release date, it's clear that the discourse around this remake will keep evolving. But...this isn't what concerns me. The current state of gaming journalism concerns me as much as the game itself. While there are still some dedicated and talented journalists out there, they seem to be in the minority these days. Many outlets have shifted away from providing informative reviews and news, opting instead to push personal narratives or activist agendas that often don't resonate with the broader audience. This trend can lead to skewed representations of games and their creators, focusing more on controversy than on meaningful analysis. It's no secret that some very prominant gaming outlets have had it out for Director Kojima and Konami for years. Sometimes making wild claims that have nothing to do with the actual games. It's like they've got a personal vendetta or something. I'd bet good money that when Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater drops, we'll see the same old song and dance. These outlets will probably be chomping at the bit to find something - anything - to criticize, even if they have to stretch reality to do it. And it's not just with Director Kojima. There's this weird trend where some of these sites seem to have a bone to pick with Japanese developers in general. It's like they're trying to force their cultural views onto games and creators that come from different background. Instead of trying to understand or appreciate the differences, they just attack. It's lazy journalism at best, and cultural bias at worst. I know what you're thinking, "But this is a remake wont it be similar to reviews from back in the day?". Maybe, maybe not. I have trust issues with certain outlets and I fully expect some to just use this as another opportunity to attack, remake, or not. I get that not everyone's going to love every game, but there's a big difference between fair criticism and this kind of targeted negativity. Part of this also encompasses the whole divorce between Konami and Kojima from years ago, and it's like this dark cloud that's still hanging over everything with some people. I can't help but feel for the new team working on this remake. They're in a tough spot. They've got to live up to this legendary game, and they're doing it without Kojima. That's a tall order. Some will use this as an excuse to take shots at them, no matter what they do. If they change too much, people will say they're ruining Kojima's vision. If they don't change enough, they'll get criticized for not being innovative. And all the while, they're dealing with a ton of pressure from Konami and fans to deliver. I just hope once the final game is in reviewers' and gaming media's hands, they give it a fair shake. This team has probably been through hell trying to make this work, dealing with all the baggage from the Kojima split, and trying to do right by the fans. It'd be nice if they could look at Delta for what it is, instead of using it as another excuse to rehash old drama or set impossible standards. I think Konami's trying to turn over a new leaf here. They've stumbled, sure, but they're owning up to it and listening to fans for once. They have shown a new level of transparency, that's a big deal for a company that used to be as tight-lipped as a clam, especially with negative fan feedback. I've always tried to call it like I see it with Konami, good or bad. And from where I'm standing, it looks like they're genuinely trying to do right by the fans this time. But here's the thing that worries me: even if they knock it out of the park with this remake, there are still gonna be groups and individuals out there looking to stir up drama. I just hope that if Konami does deliver, people will give credit where it's due instead of trying to twist things into a negative. But maybe that's asking too much from the internet these days. I guess only time will tell. If you made it this far, thanks. Have a great start to a very busy week ahead, and play more Metal Gear. —MGN

@MGSMGN I’ll take spin off games with poor story and good gameplay any day of the week. (MGR) But if a game presents itself as canon, it needs to have a good story. MGS V did not. Good gameplay isn’t good enough in this case

Metal Gear Network - MGN
I believe the essence of creativity lies not in a single element but in the harmonious blend of many components. While storytelling and creativity are undeniably crucial, for me, the gameplay stands out as the most significant aspect. Many have voiced their criticisms regarding the conclusion of Metal Gear Solid V, and I prefer not to delve into that ongoing debate. However, one point is universally acknowledged: the gameplay was exceptional. Despite its various shortcomings, MGSV delivered an incredibly satisfying gameplay experience. It’s evident that Director Hideo Kojima and his team dedicated immense effort to crafting a gameplay experience that felt both innovative and familiar. I can accept a story that isn’t particularly strong as long as the gameplay is robust and engaging. However, I find it very difficult to overlook a subpar gameplay experience, regardless of how compelling the other elements may be.

@MightyKeef People can’t just talk about it just being a loss, they need to constantly make shit up and try to slap a number to make it a bigger loss than it already is. The only way that game had $400M budget would be if they were using $ bills as toilet paper

People said Concord cost $200 million and 8 years to make. Then they said that number wasn’t right. Now I’m hearing it costed $400 million which sounds insane. It has become very hard for me to believe any sales/cost numbers from Games/movies without evidence from the company.
