Today is a great day for Birmingham as passengers ride on the Camp Hill line for the first time in 80 years. When I took over, the project was heavily delayed and over budget. We got a grip, and the fantastic team worked around the clock to get delivered.

Alongside Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and other partners, the UK condemns the approval of 19 new settlements in Palestine by the Israeli Security Cabinet and calls for this decision to be reversed. International law must be respected in pursuit of a lasting peace. 👇

As the sun sets and the first night of Chanukah begins, the thoughts of the entire Labour Party are with Jews in Britain, in Australia, and around the world.

Chanukah should be a time of celebration and joy. The news that the Bondi beach attack was an antisemitic terrorist attack against Jewish families at a Chanukah event is sickening. My thoughts are with the victims and their families. The United Kingdom will always stand with Australia and the Jewish community. We are actively working with the @CST_UK on the policing of Chanukah events.

@jdunn04 @UKLabour Of course we had better policies, and we are delivering on many of those policies. It takes time to make changes, especially with the awful mess we inherited from the last government. We certainly don’t take people for granted, but we can’t please all the people all the time.

@UKLabour @Solihull_Labour You forgot that Labour came into power by default. Not because you had better policies. People hoped for better and you're not delivering. You're making the same mistake as the Tories did and taking the people for granted.

Key crimes are continuing to fall across the West Midlands, with @SimonFosterPCC holding the force to account. 🔽Burglary, robbery, vehicle crime and serious youth violence have all had a double figure drop year on year. The PCC is working hard to ensure the trend continues.

Certainly true regarding the 3 Solihull Tory Councillors who have gone to Reform.
