✨⚔️🧄Shiny fighting onion knight! Or is it garlic? Not sure. I rigged this guy up and took it for a test drive with this combo. Now, onto a full move set and Unreal...😅 Model by Arthur Fournier: artstation.com/arthurfournier From a concept by Boyu Fan : artstation.com/fanks

@80Level That's one of the first things I ever heard when mastering music: get the cheapest headphones and speakers and make it sound good there cause that's a huge portion of the audience you'll be ignoring if you don't.

This indie developer bought a ridiculously cheap $100 PC to make sure their upcoming game is optimized even for the lowest-end hardware. AAA studios could learn a thing or two from this unorthodox approach: 80.lv/articles/this-…

I tested the AI model Sora 2 on classic anime, the result is hardly believable... I can already see the hundreds of fanmades and parodies that are going to come out! Sora 2 is definitely a new step in AI anime..

@ImChim4 @nil_sanctuary I tried to do just that but ended up fighting Unreal over it and I just wanted to make things explode. I totally agree with that though, would have been nice!

You can see both Maya playblast and the final result ~ Collaborating with Sol was such a great experience for me. I really enjoyed animating this shot and learned a lot from the feedback @Keyojimbo gave me. Rig by @Applibot_PR #animation #3danimation #cgi #unrealengine #vfx

🏹💥New VFX collab with the amazing @nil_sanctuary's animation! One of the biggest pieces I've worked on, with a blend of 2D and 3D working directly within Unreal.

@exphrasis It's one of the best things I've watched this year! Hopefully they'll find a way to get S2 through. You might be interested in Aldebaran and Betelgeuse comics from French author Leo, they have quite a similar vibe. Not as fucked up but quite similar.

Finally decided to check out Scavenger's reign, and it was a much needed escapism today. Looking forward to watching the whole season asap.

@rainisto @DroidDroidson @80Level @netflix As I said in another answer - it's like telling an intern how to do before landing on a good result and then redo later on. These assets are as usable as 3D scans. Movies maybe, games it's a no-go. I live in the present, and genAI has yet to impress me.

@Solomai_ @DroidDroidson @80Level @netflix Gen Ai to 3d is coming very quickly - we're already at this stage. The current procedural methods are very cookie-cutter and easily repeating themselves. It'll be pretty cool once they get mixed into generative AI assets - you can blend both into the games.

introducing BLENDERGPT - the fastest way to generate 3D assets and import them seamlessly into Blender. Only 15-12 seconds per 3D asset. Holy moly.

@DroidDroidson @rainisto @80Level @netflix For certain textures, arguably, but tools like city and other procedural generators are not AI (as in genAI) and definitely not something new. Just getting more accessible thanks to nodal tools.

@Solomai_ @rainisto @80Level @netflix I think you'd be surprised how much of AAA dev is small parts writ large. Text-2-Image is just one step (mostly useful for textures, in gamedev terms), but AI tools like creator-guided city/landscape generators can make rough passes of large scale assets from a solo creator.

@DroidDroidson @rainisto @80Level @netflix Same question as before, though. How does it speed the process up? It can't do localized retakes, it can't take small parts and put it elsewhere. It's like trying to tell an intern what to do and still fixing after. Mostly wasted time and effort for marginal gains.

@Solomai_ @rainisto @80Level @netflix The biggest issue is cost of assets. If you can bring it down to where 1 (or 8-10) inspired people can create high-end content (instead of 1,500) you can bring Indie creativity into AAA spaces. AI cannot *create*, but it can help a *creator* be more productive.

@rainisto @80Level @netflix So we're talking spells, assets, characters. World itself, gameplay mechanics, rules. You're essentially asking for a game that makes itself. I'm fairly positive that genAI will not be able to do that.

@rainisto @80Level @netflix I think with what's right now, and how it's been for a long time: plateauing. I don't believe the players should swing the story, that's core to the game. A randomly generated story would make for a very bad game as it progresses and makes things the devs never intended.
