Either Eastern Orthodoxy is the true Church (making Rome schismatic), or the early Church did not possess the papacy as Rome later defined it — in either case, the Catholic Church as it exists today cannot be the one true Church.

I just celebrated my third Pascha as a baptized Orthodox Christian, and I’ve been on this corner of the app for longer than that. I have never seen such united frequent attacks against the Orthodox Church as I have seen this week. Not saying I am some sort of seasoned expert, cuz I’m not. But it is curious, why now? You guys must really be bleeding converts to our Church.

I just finished watching this "debate." My observations: - David Wood came to have a conversation about morality and orthobros aligning with Muslims against Christians. - Andrew Wilson came to win a debate. Honestly, it was a fairly fruitless discussion in terms of the topics, but it was worth seeing how these guys handled 3 hours of going back and forth. David came out looking way better, standing firm on what we know are foundational Christian truths. Andrew seemed to not be able to understand basic Christian beliefs, which was something David hammered on in the middle section. For instance, he appeared to think that "non-denominational" somehow means "I'm hiding what I actually believe." It was just really weird. Maybe he was just playing ignorant? Has Andrew ever given a steelman definition of a Protestant's view of salvation?

@YoungPenitent Even if it isn't a sin in itself, it can cause people to stumble. Also the christian apologetics sphere at the moment cares arguably more about attitude and language than theology.

@Junior68553754 @st_alikinnie We have two see's that of Antioch and Alexandria that are Petrine. Its a judisdictional schism between Constantinople and Russia yet they're still in tangential communion with each other. Rome on the other hand is in schism via heresy for a millenia

Today the Pope reigns supreme at your "councils" and it is impossible for a council to anathematize a Pope. 1/2
